My mood while writing this blog: Happy |
I know it is kind of early to be thinking about labor for me...but I am!! I go to the doctors next Tuesday and can't wait to talk to him about the delivery. I don't want a c-section (I don't know if I even have the option) but I do not want to be stretched down there! In reality I don't think someone who gave vaginal birth once or twice verse someone that gave it 5 times can possibly be the same. I haven't felt up to having sex at all and thats the one thing I can't wait to do after the baby..lol. To have sex and not feel like a whale...lol. So I don't want to risk being loose down there. After my first I felt no difference..in reality I liked sex more. After my second I did feel a slight difference at first. I am not sure if it ever went away or what. So now baby number 3 comes I don't want to be like an old lady down there. This has been a concern for me since I found out I was pregnant. My husband didn't want me to even ask about a c-section because of the scar but once I talked to him about the whole thing he said it was my choice, if i was allowed to choose. My only concern is recovery time. Can anyone that had one tell me how it was after. The longest I was in labor with either of my children was 3 hours. Thats counting before I left to go to the hospital. I have been stuck in all natural labor before and will NEVER do it again!! I kept asking to wait for drugs well after a certain point you don't have the option. So when you get to the hospital make sure you get something. Anyways if anyone can tell me about c-section I would be greatful.
Also to the ladies that had one I dont think the scar is bad looking at all. I mean I have seen girls in bikinis on her that had them. There stomachs looked better than mine after 2 vaginals lol. If you had the choice what would it be?

Saturday, 20 Dec Hi there, I just read your blog about c-sections vs vaginal birth. I've not had a vaginal birth so I honestly can't say which is the better way to go. However, I can tell you that my c-section experience was wonderful. I was terrified going in for the procedure as it sounds so nitty-gritty, being wide awake on the operating table while they cut you open to deliver your baby. But it turned out to be a very clean, quick procedure that was over within minutes. The procedure itself (after the epidural was in and they started the actual procedure) took about 8 mins, then about 10-15 mins while they stitched me up. I got to hold my baby almost straight away, then once I was being stitched up my baby and hubby went to get cleaned up etc etc. I was in recovery for about 20 mins before joining my hubby and new son in our room. The hardest part is obviously the first few days after the operation, it's pretty painful and you'll probably be in bed for the first entire day and night and your hubby will probably have to do the baby's firs bath, nappy changes etc as you won't be able to get out of bed. However, if you don't let that part of the experience get you down, it's not all that bad. It's a nice excuse to stay in bed for a few days and let other people fuss about around you. You'll be on pain meds while is hospital and every day get so much better then the one before. Every week got better and better and by the end of the 3rd week I felt raring to go and felt as though I could do anything lol. I was walking around fine by the end of the 1st week, even better the 2nd and was tempted to drive by the 3rd week (I didn't though lol). Obviously it is a slow process and as long as you really take care of yourself and try not to let yourself overdo it, you'll be fine and recover nicely. The scar that I have is below my bikini line so it can never be seen and it's about 15-20cm long and is very thin and very neat. My son is now 14 months old and the scar is very, very pale and barely noticeable. I have a birth story on my page from when I had my son if you want to take a look. I understand you being unsure as to which way to give birth, some people find it hard to recover from c-section, but even with a vaginal birth there are no guarantees everything will be smooth sailing, as 2 of my friends had very long and difficult labors which long recoveries. I'm definitely very comfortable with the idea of having another c-section, whereas before the idea of a c-section scared me more then a vagina birth, now it's the other way round. I have to say though, that the saying 'too posh to push', is definitely not true as a c-section is still hard work, just in a different way. All the best and I hope you have a great birth and delivery, no matter which way it happens!! Beauti -
Friday, 19 Dec well this is my first baby, and the thought of a c-section frightens me, so I personally will opt for a vaginal birth. However I believe to each it's own, I will try my best to go as long as possible for natural childbirth and if i am not able to take it anymore I will def YELL for some meds..LOL Best of luck to you!

Thursday, 18 Dec The thought of a c-section completely horrifies me, but then again this is my first child so I don't know :) I'm definitely going to get an epi and I'm hoping everything goes smoothly. I think I'm only going to consider a c-section if it's absolutely necessary. But if it’s your third then I’m sure you know better than me! It just seems like such a major surgery to me. I don’t want to feel like I can’t care for the child because I have to take it easy to heal. allih8 -
Thursday, 18 Dec I have nightmares about having a c-section, so I vote vaginal all the way. There's a lot of risk for infection w/ c-section and you can't hold the baby usually right away.
