15-5-2008 - 1st US after Best Buy

So almost 2 weeks ago I was walking around in Best Buy with my hubby when I started bleeding. Needless to say we did not buy the TV we were looking at. Instead we rushed to the hospital and spent 4 hours there. By the time they did the U/S at the hospital I had pretty much stopped bleeding and the scan showed both a gestational sac and yoke sac.

This past Monday I went in for my first actual scheduled US and we had a heartbeat! 125! And the little bean was a few days younger than we thought... I had myself at 6 weeks 6 days but the US said 6 weeks 3 days. Not sure if that will effect my due date yet. The Dr also said no exercise or sex for 2 weeks after any bleeding. He pointed out on the US where there was a little area of hemorhage behind the implantation area that was the likely cause of the Best Buy episode! That 1 in 3 women have this and it was nothing to worry too much about. My body would likely re-absorb it by the end of the first trimester.

So to anyone who has had a scare I hope this makes you feel better. Of course I'm not out of the woods yet.... and after loosing the twins last year and not having any warning sign I know better than to be overly confident. I prefer "cautiously optimistic". At least until 12 weeks....... even my hubby is reserving too much excitement.....
