19-5-2008 - Baby Shower

My mood while writing this blog: Excited

HEY!

So I had my baby shower this Saturday, and being me, I didn't know we had to have reservations to have a shelter. I mean any other time we have a cookout, we just show up and we cook out. But, no, this weekend it was beautiful weather, and EVERYONE had something going on.

So I went to a small park near my fiance's mom's house, and we were going to have it there. There was a empty table, and I sent my fiance to stake it out while we got everything. Well it was reserved for 3 pm. I was like okay, we'll be done by three. So when we get there I call him when I get there cause he's not there, and he tells me that someone who was part of that party has shown up and was waiting there. This was 12!!!! I was so upset!

So we scrambled around, and we got tables and chairs from family and friends, and we set it up under a huge tree. It turned out nice. Except a lot of ppl didn't show up who said they were. That upset me a little, but o-well right?

So, I got

I got a pack and play (go) from my brother and sister-in-law...didn't expect that!!! WHOO_HOO, now I don' t have to buy one. 4 packages of diapers, and one was a box with like 263 or something. They were the ones that go up to 15 pds. And two for newborns, and one for 2. I got packages of washrags, lots of baby outfits, some for now and some for later on. Pacifiers, bottles, baby books, recieving blankets, HUGE box of baby wipes. It had like 8 indivual on the go packs that are each about 4 inches thick. Two containers of wipes, and two huge refil packs. More onsies, and two baby hampers. Pooh and Tiger figurens, adhesive wall decorations (Pooh). Lets see.....I think that's it!

I filled up her drawers with all her clothes, tonight I am going through the box of clothes Darin's cousin gave us, and divide the clothes by months. All the NB and 0-3 are put away. I need to go ahead and seperate the older months. I filled up her other dresser with diapers (not real dresser right now, the plastic drawer thingy.) and her changing table. Her changing table, the bottom shelf is divided in half. The first half is baby wipes, and the second half more diapers. The first shelf has her baby bath stuff, her lotions and baby powder, some sleepers, and her little washclothes and desposable washclothes.

? And those people that sat there at 12???? They didn't even have anything going on! We ended up setting under a tree, and at 5:30ish when we were packing up, THERE WAS NOTHING GOING ON! The shelter was all empty, and all that was there was a table cloth they put there. OY! But it turned out good and my friends showed up and we had a good time.

AWWW!!!! I am so excited! And today I am supposed to get a package from my mommy that has more baby clothes and stuff in it. Along with a check so that I can get her bassinet!! GOSH, I can't believe how excited I am. I look at all her stuff and I get all excited. So I am prepared material wise for her! Just waiting for my rebate check so I can get new carpet in the house. Don't want the old carpet that's probably been in the house since it was first built. Just waiting for it to get to me. LOL...can't wait to set up her bassinete! But I will probably have Darin set that up when I am in the hospital with the baby. Don't want my cat to get attached and claim it for her own bed. I have to start breaking both animals from sleeping in my room.

My doggie and my kitty. Bella and Baby. But it shouldn't be too hard, Bella doesn't really bother me sleeping in the room, but I don't want her to be on my feet and under my feet when I get up in the middle of the night (which I already do, and she does) and trip all over her. But, like I said, I do now, so I have to break her soon.

Anyways...enough talky, I will come back tomorrow and write what my mommy sent me.
