| 13-7-2008 - Grace update : 13th July 2008 | My mood while writing this blog:Loving every minute of being a mama |
Well we ve just come back from a family weekend break down the New Forest at our caravan ....and Grace was a true gem.....fed and slept on cue .....and has really started smiling too the best ever thing to see .....
Grace got weighed on friday and is now 8lb 1oz and 4 weeks ago was 6lb 13oz so I m reaaly pleased as I m breast feeding her soley .I m using mams nipple sheilds as Grace found it hard to latch when my milk came in but as long as she is getting her milk from me I dont care how she is getting it .... also I can express and let my hubby feed her as the sheild teats are the same as the mam s bottle teats so no confusion ..... and it give me a break as my second child George never took to a bottle and I was stuck with only me giving him a feed so no time to myself .....
Also another little thing I got off ebay was milkband a little rubber wrist band that helps to tell you which boob you fed off last and what time and it super as I know when I feed her last and can say Grace feed every 4 hours through out the day and every 2 hours in the evening knowing if its the right or left .... you girls in the US can get them off www. milkbands .com and mummys in the UK can get them off E bay I ve got the ebayers id if you want it .....and they come in loads of colours too and are cheap as chips .
I alse got myself a little monitor for Grace as for some reason I m parnoid about her at night I feel guilty for sleeping incase something happens to her so I went web surfing last week and got a Respisense baby monitor which you clip on to they nappy so you know where it is and you get no false alarms and it tickles they tummy if they dont breath for than 10 secs then a loud alarm sounds that gets louder and louder another 5 seconds after and its is brillant and I m glad I got it as I can see the green flashing light at night through her clothes and blankets to say all is well .... its was worth every penny I can tell you .....worth looking at if any of you new mums are worried and not sleeping like me ..... as long as you set it up correctly it will give you a little peace of mind ..
My other older children are settling in well been older siblings to they little sister and all I can say thank goodness for the age gaps ...Rose is 10 next month and George has just turned 4 and they are SO helpful that every morning without me ever asking is a cup of hot strong tea by my bedside table before my alarm has gone off from Rose .... and George will help change nappies even if its just getting stuff ready without me having to ask ...
I can honestly say that I m loving every single second of been a Mummy to my three beautiful children could nt ask for more
oh and not forgetting my darlin husband of 14 years either he has been super too ......
Hope everyone else is enjoying mummyhood too ....
