23-9-2009 - 16 week ultrasound a check-up!

My mood while writing this blog: NOW I WANT TO KNOW FOR SURE!!! LOL!!! SO I AM UNSURE!!!!

So I went to docs today. Husband and I were in the room ready to go. I felt like I was gonna puke cause I get so nervous to check on baby. So door opens and my throat gets a knot cause I am freakin out just wanting to see my baby and it was the nurse! Lol. She said he just had to leave and go do a delivery. Ugh! Well okay but I am not leaving! Lol. So I waited but hubby had to leave he was disappointed. I waited about 45 minutes but I didnt care. So got in and he always does the ultrasound first and there was my beautiful baby. Heart beating away. Moving around. He says so do you know the sex of the baby and I say no. Feeling guilty if I find out cause my husband was not there but you know us we get in selfish and anxious mode. Ha! So he looked right under butt for a minute and I lay there shocked cause I see NOTHING in between the legs. ( I was just for sure it was a boy cause I always do the pencil trick and its always right. Always). This time it said boy. Well.... So doc says well I think it just to early to tell. Granted his machine is an old one and not a good one we get when we get the 12 and 20 week ultrasounds. So I said well what do you think and he says, "Usually when you dont see anything that means girl but I just say its to soon. We will try again in 2 weeks. So I go October 7th back to him and if he cant tell I have my BIG ultrasound October 14. So now I just really want to know!!!! I dont care either way just what are you baby??!!! Hehe! Well I hope everyone is good. I also have not gained any more weight for 2 weeks. I still am at 137. So total I have gained 10 lbs. I feel good about that! I have a pic of babies butt and wish I could load it but dont know how. Its to small to take a pic of. Maybe I can see if hubby will take it to work and scan so you can tell me what you think!

I've had that happen twice before... and ended up with one of each. :-) It'll probably be better if your husband gets to be there when you find out anyway. :-)

YAY! Glad things went well! My next appt is October 14th for morphology testing and etc...But my doc confirmed for the 3rd time yesterday we are having a princess! YAY! LOL!

glad all is well! my baby wouldn't cooperate at my last ultrasound so I am dying to know as well, but I have my BIG u/s next Weds and we'll find out the gender. I CANNOT wait! I think its a boy but I will be thrilled if its a girl. mucho love! xoxo

So glad you got to see baby today (bummer for your husband) and that all is looking well. I feel you on the whole part about feeling sick before the appointment! I don't get m/s but I sure felt sick on the way to my doctor today!!! I really thought I was about to puke! Sorry you didn't find out the gender today. Guess we are in the same boat! I have my big scan in two weeks so maybe we will find out on the same day! Again, so glad all is going well for you and baby!!! Love, Karin

We'll, I suppose the baby just didn't want it's sex revealed yet. I had a sonogram at 16 weeks too. The tech said she thought it was a boy, but she wasn't for sure. So, later on at 20 weeks, when I had my amnio, it was confirmed on the sonogram that it was a boy. Then we got the test results back from the amnio, and those results are fool proof!!! Because it goes off of the dna (amnionic fluid)... If I had to guess, I would say that you are having a girl. Since they couldn't see anything between the baby's legs. Keep me posted though. I'm curious now for you.

great to hear you and baby are doing well. too bad hubby wasnt able to stay. so i guess you will have to wait another 2wks to confrim if its a girl or not.
