My mood while writing this blog: confused |
Mommies, I guess the Fathr is not going to buy the pump for me. I was planning on getting the Medela pump-n-style but it is pricey. I need to get a double pump that is electric and have noticed some at Target and Walmart that are significantly cheaper. Since money is so tight for me, can anyone recommend a cheaper brand with good and adjustable suction that didn't cause any nipple problems. Thanks ladies.

Wednesday, 2 Dec mnot sure if you know but regardles how much money you make you can contact a lactationist threw your local WIC office and they will give you a single manual medela pimp (which i have and works good) or if going back to work you can fill out for a automatic one to rent (i had rented one from the hospital it cost 80$ for a week) sfrizzell1 -
Tuesday, 1 Dec Well, I've been pumping since Sophia's been born. I bought the Medela manual single pump and it works ok BUT it's tiring and you cant adjust the suction, which I've learned is important. The hospital uses the Medela Symphony electric double and I absolutely LOVE it. I dont know how much they are but I'm sure they are pricey. I can rent it from the hospital for $60 per month BUT depending on how long I need it, I might as well buy it. Especially since she's premie. I cant reccomend a pump but I've learned over the past week that you shouldnt go cheap on the pump. I know times are hard for me too so I'm glad I can use the pumps at the hospital each day when I go see Sophia. stephncorey -
Tuesday, 1 Dec I put the Medela on lay away at Kmart... Times are tough for us too. It is the only way I could figure to pay for the thing. I figure Ive got three more weeks to pay on it and its been working out. Maybe this is an option for you? hollienjax -
Tuesday, 1 Dec Do you think it would be better to maybe rent one from the hospital, you know that way you can make sure breastfeeding is gonna work out first then you will have more of an idea about what's gonna work for you and then you could buy one. And if it doesn't work out for some reason (sometimes it just doesn't?) You can just send the hosp one back. I'm not sure how much they cost though. I did have a double electric pump that I got from WalMart. I can't remember the name brand but it wasn't more than 50 bucks and it served the purpose for me? Sorry I couldn't help more!
