10-11-2009 - My 28th Week Appointment tenseMy mood while writing this blog:
tense

I failed my 3 hour glucose screen, so my doctor is making me go see a dietitian and start monitoring my blood sugar. UG! So much of the joy of late pregnancy GONE over the holidays! It's gonna be hard to even eat like I'm supposed to, much less avoid the things I'm supposed to avoid.

He said "You can't be too active, either." I brought up my SPD(symphisis pubis disorder) and all the pain it causes me because I want to do more and push it, and end up hurting. He is also sending me to see a physical therapist and possibly be fitted for a pelvic brace.

I sure hope these are covered, but I expect a copay at each visit. And money is so tight right now. I'm just super stressed over several things going on not even related to my pregnancy. So I just am trying to cope. I think I might go take a nap right now, lol!

Awww, you must be spewen! It'll be hard at first but changing the way you eat is something you get used to pretty quick if your determined. The brace sounds horrible too. Hang in there and if nothing else maybe it will get your partner to quit smoking, or at least cut down heaps! Ahhhhh, I'd love a smoke! hahahaha.

You'll do great! I was diagnosed with GD at 14 weeks. I've gone to many parties and did just fine with eating. It's all a state of mind. I've been doing great. I've only lost weight and feel great. This is a good diet to follow even after the baby is born. I'm here for your support. Let me know how your appointments go. Another bright side to GD is you get extra attention! =) I get to have an ultrasound once a month to monitor his growth. So... there are some perks. =) Check out my blogs on my page.

I'm sure it's a no sweets, limit carbs, eat round the clock, and 4 blood sugar checks a day. I can handle the diet but I'm not looking forward to all those pokes! I told my b/f he can only smoke if I cheat, so I'll be extra good, because I want him to quit so bad! And I do plan to cheat at least on the two major holidays. I don't have to go overboard, probably can't with the amount I'm able to eat, lol! But I am gonna eat cookies and pie and stuffing on Thanksgiving and Christmas!

Awe! Sorry to hear you failed it. That's no good for sure! What foods do you have to restrict? Do you have an idea yet? The holidays will be tough, but maybe you can reward yourself after the pregnancy that way you still have some good foods to look forward too!? It's just about 12 more weeks maybe a little less... hang in there! In the meantime, I am nervous to take my first test. I go on the 19th! eek! =\
