My mood while writing this blog: pretty chilled |
So I had my 36 week check up yesterday, and all is looking good :)
Baby boy is big and healthy... hates the u/s machine, and loves kicking the Docs back when they feel my belly, but I got to see him breathing again, and the Doc is very pleased about that, and says he has a good, strong heartbeat, and looks like a very happy baby :)
There is some talk of inducing me a little closer to our due date because of his size, but they'll check his growth again at 38 weeks when I go back, and make decisions from there. Thankfully there was no talk of caesarian sections or anything, which I'm grateful for.
Only 3 days left until he is considered a "term" baby! I'm so thrilled! yesterday I made up his cot, and it looks so cute, I can't wait to take some pics and post them up... but of course every time I go to take pics, there's something else I want to do first lol. His clothes are at least washed, hospital bag now packed... now I have to sort out the labour bag :P
J and I have our last "just us" weekend this weekend, heading up north to the lakes to do some pike fishing (J, not me - I just cook... wayyyy too top heavy to handle a rod right now!) and relax. I really think he needs it, and so do I - just a little us time, and time to prepare us for what's coming... so I hope baby boy waits until at LEAST next week before coming... he seems quite comfortable in there, but I am getting some cramping in the mornings... nothing serious, just period-like cramps (wow, haven't felt THOSE in a long time!), and easy enough to breathe through.. they're easier when I walk it off, and don't last for more than a few minutes when I wake up. Had some serious cramping and pain after the Doc appointment yesterday, after she'd scanned... but I think it was mostly baby boy: he gets really uptight with the machine and squirms really hard, and balls himself up in protest. Poor little thing. BH contractions have surprisingly been a lot better since I finished work, not nearly as frequent and I still put it down to work-stress and that damn chair of mine at work... Now I get maybe 2 or 3 big ones a day.
Beautiful misty weather here - it's awesome to stand on our balcony and just feel this blue-grey fine mist wash over me... going to be a lovely, relaxing day!
