03:45 am here, these contractions are unbelievable... I've been sleeping in 10 - 15 minute installments since 11 pm... contracting hard since about 9:30 pm. Only had about 3 or 4 more contractions yesterday during the day... seems like my body just prefers to labour in the dark lol.
Because I've been trying to sleep, I've not really been timing, but the last one has put sleep out the window, and I think the time may be coming to go in. My back is absolutely killing me, as though someone is wringing my lower back muscles through a grater... It feels as though my cervix is splitting in half... someone said contractions felt like period pain X 10... I think they were being kind. There is a kind of sick irony in spending 9 months with minor complaints, forgetting even what period cramps feel like (and I got them bad!) and then going through what are probably the worst "period pains" you would ever experience... lol. I am coping alright, with walking when I can, rocking, and breathing... I have a hot water bottle for the worst of the back pain... my lifesaver. So far it's bearable, but the really bad ones have me quite queasy... I think I may be one of the pukers... will be interesting to see ;)
I'm watching this really bad sci fi movie trying to keep my mind off it lol... it's okay - I guess it's quite scary, so it's keeping me suitably distracted, except for the worst parts.
Wish me luck ladies - truly hoping that when I go in this morning I am already well dilated and will not have far to go...
I hope to catch up with all of you on friday when I'm released or on Saturday :)

YAY! Today is the day! You made it and in what seems like no time you will be holding your little boy. I'm so excited for you. I can't wait to hear how things went and I pray that labor stays with you so you don't have to be induced. This is so exciting! I can't wait to see pics of you and your amazing little one. Remember...you CAN do this. You were made for it. Happy Birthday to baby boy. :)
