My mood while writing this blog: fine |
Finally at the twenty week mark at the middle of the pregnancy. I thought I'd never make it this far. The other day, I felt the baby kick really hard and my husband felt it too. I can only feel it when I'm lying down or maybe he only kicks when I'm lying down. It was very reassuring. I can't wait to meet him!
We decided on a name finally. Well, I guess it's not really late or anything, it's just that I like to have these kinds of things settled. It's a boy so we decided on the name Samuel Robert Tooker. If the sonogram tech was wrong, then it will be Susanna Caroline Tooker.
I'm having a hard time with other people saying mean things about not having drugs during my delivery. First of all, I can't have meds anyway because I get violently ill with just about anything. Secondly, I never wanted drugs to begin with. It doesn't make any sense to avoid all kinds of chemicals throughout the pregnancy only to get doped up to the gills at the last minute. I've been practicing yoga for many years and I feel that I am perfectly capable of giving birth without screaming like a banshee.

Thursday, 30 Apr People are giving me a hard time about wanting a natural delivery, too. Just ignore them. It's your body, and your baby, so do what you want. phooey -
Wednesday, 29 Apr I can't believe people are giving you a hard time about having a natural delivery! Ignore them! Or better yet-- let em have it! Beautiful names btw. I can't wait until we reach an agreement on a name... Texas gal -
Wednesday, 29 Apr I like the names that you picked out.
As far as the drugs vs no drugs go, I think it's a personal choice. I feel strongly that people should not point fingers regarding your choice. I personally think that not taking drugs is very admiriable. It will be all natural and that is a good thing. I have not decided whether I will have an epidural. I just have not thought about it much.
I took a hospital tour on Sunday. We visited the new Methodist hospital which is in Stone Oak. (still in SA). It is a brand new hospital that just opened in March of this year. It is really nice. All of the post delivery rooms are private! Which is a huge plus, and there are no extra fees for the rooms since they are all the same. yeah.....
We'll better get to work. tto -
Tuesday, 28 Apr I can't understand why you would get any negative comments on that! You can do it and my mom said she was up on yoga for one of her pregnancies and she things that made it easier. You can do it if you want to- I did it and I'm really proud of that because I'm a wimp! Enjoy the best part of the pg- looking pg, but not too big yet, and feeling the gentle kicks! ~amy~ -
Tuesday, 28 Apr Congrats on making the halfway mark! Ignore those that don't agree with you about your labor. I found out that only MY opinion mattered re: birth. You are the one having the child! Not your partner, your mother-in-law, etc. YOU ARE! blessedbaby2be -
Tuesday, 28 Apr Congrats on the 20 week mark and don't worry about what anyone else says about your delivery. It is your personal choice so do what is best for you. No one knows your body better than you! mrs.leyva -
Tuesday, 28 Apr don't pay any attention to peoples rude remarks. I was my cousin's couch when she had her daughter with no meds at all. She was in a lot of pain, but right after she gave birth she completely forgot about the pain. As if she had blacked out.
