03-7-2009 - Hospital stay :( unhappyMy mood while writing this blog:
unhappy

I'm SO glad to be home!! Had to go to the hospital Sunday because my contractions started coming stronger and closer together. My doc was there doing a delivery so he checked and I was at a 1. He told me I had to stay. They put me on Magnesium sulfate until Tuesday, about 11am. That stuff really stinks! Made me feel like crap! I also wasn't allowed to get up for the restroom. That was awful. Bedpans are NO FUN!!!! I was also on a liquid diet until I was off as well. I finally got to get up and have real food lunch time on Tuesday. That night, contractions started coming more. The nurse called my doc and he said to call the peri. They did an FFN test and it came back negative. Very good news. The doc said it is 98% accurate. Later that night, two nurses came in because the baby's heart rate had dropped down to 70. I turned on my back and they gave me som oxygen and he was back to normal. They think he probably grabbed the cord. We didn't have any more problems with his heart rate after that. Wednesday, contractions started coming back harder and were starting to get painful. After about 2 hours or so, they calmed back down. My doc came back and checked and I was still at a 1, so that was good news. I wasn't dialating more. Later that day, the peri came back in and said he wanted to try and put a little more stress on to see how my body would react. I was able to shower!!! I was so happy! Thursday finally came around and the peri came back in and said he was going to try and get me home. I was SO happy! My doc came in and said they were going to let me go home. I was unhooked from everything and right when my husband got there to pick me up, the nurse came in and said I had to stay longer because on one of my contractions his heart rate dipped. I was monitored for about 3 hours with no problems! I was SO ready to go home!! I went today (Friday) back to L&D for a NST and ultrasound. He is doing perfect! I'm still contracting, but they are irregular and not very painful so we are okay. I'm taking procardia every 6 hours and hopefully we can hold off for another 2 weeks. I will be 34 weeks on Monday and just want to make it to 36 weeks! I'm going back to see my doc this Tuesday. This little guy better stay put!

just read your blog...im so sorry you are going through having to be in the hospital....if you read mine you will see how much i hate hospitals lol.......i am glad to see you have made it so far, and you have no idea how much your baby is developed at this point. i will ask though have they given you the steriod shots? i firmly believe that is the only reason my baby breathed on his own from day one being born 10 weeks early

Oh tough week. I am waiting for my 2 weeks to past too. Then 36 weeks the stitch comes out. Its like you get thiks far and the babby wants to start acting up!!! I know mines wouldn't cooperate with the NST Thursday, so they had to send me over the L&D. Then when I get home he wouldn't be still!!Go figure right. that is how they do. I told the docs in order to get the results they want they need to send the monitor with me home. Thats when you are going to get the best results. Good luck and keep that little one in, at least for 2 more weeks.
