27-3-2010 - My baby girl is here:) In loveMy mood while writing this blog:
In love

My beautiful baby girl is finally here - Kahleah Janet Manuia Tauiliili. Born on Wednesday 24th March 2010 at 2.59pm, weighing 6 pounds 7, 37 weeks and 2 days. The name Kahleah was chosen by her big sister, Janet is the name of my very special and sick aunty and Manuia means blessing in Samoan because thats what she is:)

I woke up Wednesday morning for work at 6am and lay in bed for about 15 minutes, I got up and went to the toilet.......but I didnt make the toilet and felt a gush. At first I thought maybe it was that I just hadnt made the toilet in time and sat there for a few minutes stunned. I then stood up and thought I would carry on getting ready for work so I walked through the house looking for my work clothes and felt sum trickles down my legs. I went into my room and stood there looking at my partner sleeping - OMG I said and he immediatly woke up asking what was wrong? I said I thought my waters had broken and a huge grin came across his face, he asked what I was going to do, I didnt know so I rung the hospital while he woke up our daughter.
I wasnt having contractions yet but because I had tested positive for Group Step B I was told to make my way in and that I would be having my baby today, so we did.
We arrived at the hospital just after 7am where I was put in a delivery room and a midwife, who was soooo lovely hooked me up to the IV drip and also talked to me about having another drip to help start off my contractions as well as that gel stuff. I was also getting my blood sugar levels checked every hour becasue of the diabetes. A Dr came in and examined me and said that I was already 3cms dilated and that the drip would be enough to start off contractions, I was already having very mild cramps. After about 15 minutes of being all hooked up my contractions starting coming frequent and more and more stronger, I am such a wimp with pain and told the midwife that I wanted to have an epidural right from the start, so once the contractions got even stronger I asked for that epidural! A couple of hours after I was given the epidural
as I could no longer handle the pain, once it had kicked in and the contractions were more bareable I was examined again by the Dr who told me that I was actually fully dilated and she asked me to push a few times so she could get a good feeling of where the baby's head was and the position. She then told me it would not belong before I needed to start pushing, maybe in half an hour. I was told that I had to let the Epidural ware off so that I could feel the urge to push baby out so she could be born sooner, I was a little disapointed with this decision:(
It was now about 12.30pm and my family and my best friend were all there, I felt so lucky to have such huge support.
Not long after the midwife said that my contractions were very strong now so she would like me to start pushing, I only wanted my partner in the room, and he was the best support person EVER, he really got me through when I wanted to give up and ask for them to cut her out I honestly dont know what I would have done without him. I was only pushing for maybe an hour and a half or 2 hours and once her head was out he helped to pull her out. We both cried. She was so beautiful.
I stayed in for the night and kahleah had to ave a few blood sugar levels taken also to make sure she did not have diabetes - she is all clear and I will have to get the yucky sugar drink test done again in 6 weeks to see where im at.
So we are now all settled in at home and have had a million visitors in her 3 days of being here already and ive had so much chocolate brought for me now that I can eat it:)
My daughter Kiara, who is 9 years old is sooooooo helpful and just so good with her sister, she adores her and wants to do everything she can for her. She can not wait to see her when she wakes up in the morning it brings tears to me eyes:)
I could NEVER imagine life without my 2 beautiful princesses!!!!
