12-8-2009 - First Blood Test

My mood while writing this blog:
Feeling ok

Yesterday I decided to ring around to find a midwife and because there is a big demand I was told that I should hopefully have one soon but if I reach 15 weeks and still dont have one then ill be reffered to the hospital. I was a little disapointed but it really cant be helped. I guess for me I cant help but still have a little worry in the back of my mind of suffering another loss, and was hoping to try and have a scan at 8 weeks to check. Once I have that scan I can then tell my parents, dont want to say anything just yet!
I talked to my Dr today and she asked if I wanted to get my Beta HCG levels checked to make sure they were rising. I agreed, cant hurt really so I had one lot done today and ill have another in 10 days and if we need to do more then we can. It sux coz Drs are not funded to do maternity care anymore thats why they tell you to find a midwife straight away but my Dr seems like she really does care and trys to do what she can.
So I get my results from the first test tomorrow, not that its exciting or anything coz I dont have anything to compare it to, never mind.

No that IS exciting. I had my first test done yesterday and I get the results today. Then I have another test tomorrow to check to see if they are rising. It will be exciting to know if your in "normal"range or not!!! This is the FIRST time I have evern had a beta blood test and I am exciting so you should be too!!! YAY!!!! Keep us posted on those numbers girl!!! :)

Believe me. Numbers are numbers! With my first blood test they didn't even tell me the number! I was so mad. They just said "yes. You're pregnant" Then with the second one I was expecting like 1000-3000 so when they told me 20, 790 I was SOOOO excited and told the world lol. Good thing this one is sticking! It'll be fine sweetie! I know it sucks, but just have faith.

Still though it will be nice to have a little bit of feed back on whats happening. i really hope you get your midwife soon and have your scan-im keeping my fingers crossed for you chick :) x
