12-3-2010 - cramping:(

My mood while writing this blog:
kinda worried

SO for the past 2 weeks ive had on and off cramping in my tummy exactly the same as period cramps,and some mornings I wake up with it. It kinda worries me so I rung the hospital nurse who said its probably just my cervix softening up so does that mean that things could start to happen soon? No one ever gives me a straight answer and im finding this very unsettling for me! Another weird thing is that I never really want to be far away from home anymore? And im REALLY suffering with bad mid back pain but only on one side of my back:( Im wondering if ill have a back labour? Maybe she is going to come very soon, I will be 36 weeks in 2 more days so who knows???? My daughter was born at 37 weeks but I know that all pregnancies are different - which is what im experiencing with this one, I never remember having all this pain and cramping with my first!

Take things easy and I'd stay close to home and your family network/those who can help if need be. It will help you to stress less if your feeling secure about your inviroment. I know it is hard not to stress but do try not to, so many things are out of our control with pregnancies and you will know in your heart of hearts if you need to get to the doctors and demand some answers. Don't be bullied into not putting your foot down. Have a "Duvet day" on the sofa with some new releases and good snacks. Take it easy and keep us posted.

Yeah like you I get frustrated at the blase answers from some midwives and doctors too. If you're iffy about going far from home though I'd say your body is telling you something. Best advice I can offer is just listen to your body's signals, rest up as much as possible and be nice to yourself. It'll all be over soon and you won't have a minute!! x

Hmmmm...they should at least check your cervix to see if you are indeed dilating. Did you have any "show" or signs of waters breaking? Everything will be okay, hang in there! x
