My mood while writing this blog: Ok |
I took my Gestational Diabetes class yesterday and learned a lot about what it is and what it does to myself and the baby. It eased my worries some. The meal plans are much easier than I thought. It isn't a diet, it is just a change in your diet. I have started to eat accordingly and test myself 4 times a day, the first being an hour after last night's dinner. The result was perfect. Today on the other hand is crazy. My first reading (fasting) was just at the limit, the second reading an hour after breakfast was over by 8 and the last one I did an hour after lunch was just under the limit. Let me tell you I can feel those results taking place. It must be that my body is adjusting to the change, learning how to regulate itself and such. I feel like a zombie. I have a week's worth of journaling my results before I go to the clinic for them to look over it all. I am sure that this is all happening for a reason and that in the end the baby and I will be fine. Change can be really tough sometimes though. I really miss just eating whatever, whenever I want :)
