16-10-2009 - (20 Weeks) Half Way Through!

My mood while writing this blog:

I am so happy to be here in week 20! When I 1st became pregnant, I was so unsure. I was excited but a little afraid. I had spotting and even some heavier bleeding at week 6 and was afraid I would be that unfortunate women to experience a mis-carriage. I got through that fine. I had my 1st viweing of the baby at my 12 week ultrasound. This is when I truly started loving the idea of being pregnant and excited about this journey. I think it was from that point on that I started to take care of myself better. Stopped smoking. I had already been off my anxiety medication at 6 weeks when I found out I was carrying as well as my muscle relaxers for my spinal arthritis. Sometimes I wonder if someone with a back condition like mine, should have gotten pregnant. Then I realize, I deserve to be happy and experienec the joys of motherhood again. I can get through this! It was scary coming off of my regular medications I had been on for 2 years. Again, I got through it! My last ultrasound at 19 weeks went so well and found out we were having a precious baby boy until the u/s Dr. came in and told us they had detected our little boy had something called Club Foot. I think it was how momchalant she said it that disturbed me the most. I had not even heard of this condition EVER much less did it EVER cross my mind that our child could ever have any birth defects. This one in partcular is correctible with a leg brace after birth. Through the grace of God this condition is manageable and not life threatening nor is it a visibly long term handicap. I will go in for my extensive u/s tests at 24 weeks. They say they want to examine the baby's heart valves. I get to see baby Jack again! I feel him move all the time now. At night when it's quiet, he really goes to town. In the morning after breakfast he say's hello and throughout the day, I feel him trying to make himself comfortable. I swear I felt an arm or a leg near my rib the other day. They say he weighs 10 oz. Almost a lb. my boy! My realtionship with my honey has been so solid lately. He holdsme around the waist and talks to the baby at night. He seems to look at me with these amazed, loving, protective even aroused eyes. I love that! I know we will have a beautiful wedding once the baby is born. Sometime in the spring near the water with our son right next to us. These are short term goals. I can't say I have been this happy my whole entire life! Thanks for letting me share with you girls!

You sound so content, god bless you and little Jack. I'm happy for you, it seems like you came along way with breaking habits such as smoking and such, thats the beautiful thing about babies, they make us want to be better women... So again congratulations and stay happy!!!

I feel a lot of movement at 4a.m. and at 8a.m. I think when he is here that's when he'll be waking up for feedings. I'm happy to hear all is well w/ you too..
