23-10-2009 - Had a Glimpse of Baby Jack Yesterday!

So Happy!

SSo, I had my OB appointment. 1st one since I found out about the Club Foot. I came in with a list of questions. The Dr. says, Good question about half of them and said she would never get this type of preparation from a let's say a 16 year old..lol I thought that was comical as I remember even being 21 for my 1st born and 25 for my 2nd and never asking a single solitary question. She reassured me that the Club Foot is so correctable and that we will have a pediatric bone Dr. at birth and get Jack in a cast. I am not so afraid of this anymore. She set me up for a Fetal Echo to check the valves of Jack's heart so I will be seeing Jack again in detail in the next week or 2. She went over the other results of the screening as when the high risk doc had been telling me things, I couldn't even hear anything past " you son has a club foot". She tells me every other measurement is normal. Baby is developing, the heart looked good, the brain is developing well and he is weighing in at about 11 oz. We listened to the heart for a few minutes which sounded so strong and then she flipped the screen to video and there he was! He is getting big in there. Her u/s machine is so dated, so there was no magnification. We saw his head and his body and then his heart beating away. He even kicked a bit while in there. I swear, everytime I leave from seeing him, It's literally made my day and I'm good for at least a couple weeks. This little boy doesn't even know how happy he makes me! Last night, he must have been trying to reposition as his kicks were so strong and so often. I put my honey's hand on my belly and he finally felt like it was outside the body our son kicking. I was so happy he got to feel this. I get to feel him all the time. He is an extremely active boy. I melt everytime I feel him! So, bottom line, yesterday was a great day!

very happy for you!! glad things are goin well for the baby!! dont know if mine is a boy or girl yet but either way, as long as its healthy and developing well, il be happy!! jack is a good name!

That is great news all is going well! I know what you mean about the joy of seeing them. I get to thinking here sometimes and turn on the dvd from the u/s. I wish I was able to feel the baby move more. It's a very rare occasion. Hopefully she gets out f the breech position:-)

congrats Nina! Im glad things are going so great for you. Im starting to feel Farrah more often now as well, usually at night but she was extremely active this morning! I cant wait to see her again on Nov 3rd. Still seems so far away. This is all so amazing and its fun to share my feelings with other very excited women like you!xoxoMallory
