22-11-2009 - He Got On One Knee.....

Happiest I\'ve ever been!

I can't even begin to tell you all how romantic and beautiful my weekend Babymoon went. We get to the resort on Friday at about 1: 30 p.m. as I took off work for the day to have the full weekend experience.The room he got was a villa, it was like a little house with an upstairs bedroom off in the back near the woods. We even had a fireplace with a pile of lumber near it. I couldn't have asked for a better more peaceful room. He asked if I would like to go take a small nature hike in the woods with him before we settle in and begin our weekend retreat. Of course, I agreed and it's a good thing i didn't start to complain that taking a walk doesn't sound like the most appealing thing to do at 6 months pregnant but it actually did! We get about 1/2 mile in and this trail was really beautiful not to mention the weather was perfect. I noticed he started to act a little different. Started to look at me strangly and then all of a sudden he starts to work his way down to his one knee as he asks me, " Will you be my best friend for always?" and as he pulls a small leather white box out of his pocket, he asked me " Are you ready for this?" I couldn't even believe it was happening. I stood there completely speechless and he said, "Will you marry me?" and I stood there with tears filling up in my eyes and told him, YES! I love you and cried in his arms for a few minutes. It was a flawless proposal. I felt so grateful, I felt so loved and I felt so blessed that God had given me 1st this beautiful little boy growing inside of me and next the love of this man and him wanting to spend the rest of his life with me! I swear, I was floating on clouds all weekend. We had several friends that were at the retreat as well and I got to share the news with a lot of people. Everytime a girlfriend of mine or a friend of his would walk up, he would look to me and say " well, are you going to tell them the big news?" He was as proud of this engaement as I was! We just got home this evening on Sunday and boy has it been a life changing experience! I posted a few picks from the retreat. I'm sure you can see the happiness in them.

Gastroschisis is a birth defect, were the babys intestines come out the abdominal wall and have to have immidiate surgery right after birth.
