16-12-2009 - 3D Scan was Today!

My mood while writing this blog:

I just got to work after having my measurement u/s at the fetal medicine facility I last visited when my baby was a mere 19 weeks along. Right when she put the doppler on my lower belly, there was Jack's head. He is faced down in a birthing position. She started to measure his head and moved along to the other parts of his body and said " wow, you have a big boy here". My son is growing beautifully! She proceeded to work her way down to his legs and showed me, because I never even saw, the family jewels and again with my own eyes, it was confirmed that he is really a he. Dean throws out a comment, " how could you have missed it". LOL MEN! She worked even further down to his feet and after quite a bit of wiggling I was able to see my son's Club Foot. I saw his little knee and that his right foot was twisted inwards. It was evident. For a second my heart sank as all along I have been hoping it was a mistake, a wrong diagnosis but there it was! This was quickly turned around when I saw his left foot was perfectly normal. It's o.k. Jack is perfect all around! At this time she said lets get some 3D shots for you to take home and she worked her way back up to his beautiful little face, flipped the screen to 3D and Jack had his arms covering his face. Like he was shy. Was so cute. After much moving the camera around we got the money shots! There, my boy was. His perfect little face, his little lips, his little nose, he even opened his one eye which was amazing to see! His ears were fully developed. The whole experience left me floating on a cloud. They said he is measuring right at 29 weeks and they he weighs exactly 3lbs now. Wow! 3 lbs already my boy! She said it was difficult getting his length in inches as he was moving so much but I suspect he is right wheer he needs to be. The dr. then came in to address my protein in the urine. She did an u/s on my gullbladder and said it looks thin the way it should but she recommends I get more lab work done especially she wants to see how my liver is doing. Bottom line, I will need to be monitored regurally for the protein and watched for signs of the pre eclampsia but for now, beside the constant burning pain in my right rib and the tremendous amount of back pain, I am doing fine and more importantly, baby Jack is doing great!!!!!!!!! P.S. I posted a couple pics of the 3D u/s. She only gave me 4 and my honey took 1 for his wallet. Take a look. I think they came out pretty clear. Hugs and Blessings to all of you ladies!

Congrats on your little boy ... I'm glad you were able to see him ... I go Friday for my 3-D sonogram ... I'm REALLY looking forward to see our baby again.

ahhh...i'm in tears reading your blog now. don't even worry about the club foot. he will be fine after the correction and it will be history. he is a big boy with 3 lbs..huh..imagine we have 2 more months to go. ouch... my baby already feels too heavy for me. keep us updated on the liver results.
