03-7-2008 - The Baby is 7 1/2 months and I have been diagnosed with Cancer

I found out about 3 weeks ago that I have Malignant Melanoma. It has really been a reality check for me. I have 3 fairly small children and a whole new lifestyle change ahead of me. I had surgery last week to remove the tumor from my arm and have a Lymph node biopsy done. I also had two other suspicious spots biopsied and will find out all the results and get my stitches out in the morning. I had to quit nursing my daughter about 2 1/2 weeks ago as I may need to start Chemo/Radiation in the future, but at this point it looks good that I will not need that. I had wanted to wean the baby, but on my terms. I feel like I was bullied into it and in a way I do miss it. She is finally taking a bottle from me but still roots at my chest if she is sleepy. It breaks my heart. Sadie is doing great. She is crawling and sitting up on her own and babbles all the time. She is sleeping all night now, which I still cannot believe. My other 2 did not sleep all night until 1 year old. Maybe she senses all that I am going through and thought I needed the sleep.
