06-7-2009 - HELP!! Baby shower question

My mood while writing this blog:
Ok

Ladies I have a quick question about when you are all having your baby showers. I have to help with the planning because I work a lot of weekends and I have to have it on one that I already have off. September is booked with other family member weddings/vacations so the only day I could have it is on August 30 which is 7 weeks before my due date. Otherwise it would have to be 3 weeks before my due date and that seems like it is pushing it. August 30th is also a Sunday-is that an ok day to have it? I am having the first grandbaby on both sides of the family and so basically we all have no clue on etiquette. It kinda sucks having to help with the planning-it is stressing me out more than anything else. Any feedback would REALLY help me out

hi just reading your question about baby shower, hope you have it all sorted now!1 im a wedding planner but also do baby showers and 7 weeks before is fine. mant ladies have there's around that sort of time. hope your doing good mandy x

My mother in law is planning mine. I am not suppose to know anything about it. So far I know it is scheduled on August 2nd. Which I think is really early. I am having the first grandson on both sides so everyone seems to want to be involved in everything. One thing you need to remember is even if it seems early to you by the time you get everything you need set up and in place baby will have already been here two weeks. You'll be fine having it at the and of August.

I alway's think a sunday is a good day to have a party or event I don't think I'm having a shower as this is baby no 3 for me but I hope it all goes well for you try not to get stressed and just enjoy it.

I had my baby shower 3 weeks before my due date and she came the weekend after the shower...

You are lucky to be able to help. I have been forbidden to. Lol, but you should have an option to do so.AnywhO, if Sunday is the only day you can have it, I say go for it!! It's still a weekend day & since its the 1st grand baby I am sure everyone will show. Don't stress out though girly, just take it one day at a time. Decide on that date too, so you can send out inivtes.. time flys!! Hope it all works out for ya!

Ugg, I wish I could help with my baby shower! But I know that my Mom and Mother-In-Law will make it a suprise... which I hate the idea of, so I don't talk about it and just let them do their thing. I think that August 30 would be fine, even sooner if you'd like. I hope mine is early, because I want to have everything done well in advance. Also you want time to shop for items that you didn't get at the shower. Sunday's are great for a shower and might even be better then a Saturday. Some people don't like to cut their Saturday short for something in the middle of the day. Sunday's normaly don't matter as much... good luck!
