My mood while writing this blog: Nervous |
Hello my fellow pregnant women! Hope that everyone is having a great day! Sorry pretty much most of my updates have been so depressing lately and I am going to stay positive because 35 weeks is pretty far along in my mind.
Well, I went to my regular appointment today....Basically was told that this baby will most likely be here in the next few weeks! Im so nervous and scared. If anyone has had a baby around 35 weeks I would really appreciate you letting me know how it went. I hope its two more weeks so that way she has a better chance of coming home with us. I am dilated to a 3 and 80% effaced and baby is at station -1. I have such heavy pubic pressure too. I had an ultrasound a week ago and the baby weighed in at 5lbs9ounces so hopefully she will have a little fat on her when she comes. I had steroid shots about a month ago as well so that should help out on the lung issues. I asked my Dr if I magically happen to go on for a while longer if she could induce me a week before my due date and she said absolutely but she also laughed at me and said I most likely WILL NOT be making it to 39 weeks. This baby is ready to come (actually my body WANTS her to come...Im pretty sure my uterus is where she prefers-she is soooo active)
My Dr told me to stop taking the contraction medication since it is not doing anything anyways. I can get up and move around more. She said not to push it too hard but for my sanity I am no longer on bedrest. She wrote me a prescription for a medication to help me relax, kinda like benadryl, since I have small contractions every 2 minutes and bigger ones almost every ten minutes. I asked her how will I know when its the real thing and she said when the contractions get so intense that I cannot talk through them. She said when they get about 5 minutes apart too not just like one big contraction and thats it.
She also told me that next time I get pregnant that they will use progesterone on me so that hopefully I will not have to go through all this again. That was pretty comforting because I was pretty sure this baby was going to be an only child.
So after the appointment we went to Target, I sat in a motorized cart and finished all the stuff I needed to get! Im going to rest today but do some laundry and focus on getting my house ready. I am so happy that I can stop taking that medication and start to feel normal again. I have my bags packed and ready to go, carseat installed and finished the final touches on the nursery.
I really feel that all of this has made me and my husband so much closer, he has been so good to me and I am SOOO blessed to have him in my life. He is going to make such a good daddy.
Im going to be sad when I deliver and all of you will still most likely be pregnant. I will be still joining in on the site and writing you all because it has become part of my daily routine! Thanks to everyone that has sent well wishes my way, Im happy to have made it this far and hopefully my body will let her stay for a few more weeks! Thanks for reading my blogs too!!!!

Wednesday, 16 Sep Wow, 80% effaced- don't worry so much about that little one coming... if she holds on for another 2 weeks she will be FULL-TERM and that is something you should be proud of and not scared of! She is a big girl already and I am sure she will do fine. It is good that your doctors are so blunt with you though and that they are now just going to try and let nature do what it wants. They have (and YOU) prevented her arrival for this long- which is wonderful for you and that little girl! Best of Luck and even though it is earlier then you want, I am excited for you and your husband and can't wait to hear about her arrival! frosty -

Tuesday, 15 Sep I am so glad she is doing well. My little Isabell was only 4 lbs 13 oz when she was born and she is almost 8 now. Your little angel is doing amazingly and so are you. Keep up the good work. herecomesbaby2 -
Tuesday, 15 Sep My SIL had both of her daughters early. One was at 34 weeks and the other at 35 weeks. They were both very healthy and if I remember correctly one weighed around 6lbs and the other around 7lbs. Her second one did have jaundice and had to stay an extra day, but neither one of them needed to be in the NICU at all. One is now almost 4 and the other is almost 2 and they are both doing great and have no health or developmental issues. :) Good luck.. I'm sure your little sweetie will be fine! twinsandmore77 -
Tuesday, 15 Sep It sounds like you will be fine even if she comes early. I am glad you can stop taking the medication I have heard they have really miserable side effects. Just stay positive there is no rule saying a 35 week gestation baby can't come home with you. It is all up to her. My littlest twin was 4 pds 13 oz and biggest was 5 pds 4 so she is bigger than both of them already and they came home right away. So keep your hopes up and I hope your delivery goes smoothly. snowcat -
Tuesday, 15 Sep Hi, i'm glad you are feeling more positive and just think you've gone alot further than you thought you would. Baby is already a good weight and i'm sure everything is gonna be just fine for both of you. I know what you mean about coming on this site being part of your routine, i have only just started posting but i have been checking it religiously everyday for months and i think its a great support to all us anxious mummys-to-be whether it is our first or more. Take care and keep doing what you are doing, i realise how hard the last few months must have been to cope with and i have great respect for you. Oh, and yeah to the end of absolute bedrest. Good luck mistyfire77 -

In fact I', starving and brought a pizza in from the freezer but had to come here first, lol. Everything will be fine. I only have 3 1/2 weeks left unless the baby decides she's coming earlier! Tuesday, 15 Sep Hey there! I had my daughter last year at 35 weeks....and she was perfect....5lbs 14oz, roomed in with me at the hspoital, and home with me 2 days later. I had been on bed rest from 31 weeks with her, at which time i was 2.5cm and 80% effaced. This time around, i started dilating at 24 weeks....by 27 weeks i was 2cm and 50%, and i've been on strict bedrest all this time. I get to stop my meds this Sun, when i hit 35 weeks, and we'll see how soon baby wants to make an appearance. Good luck! Ms. Russo -
Tuesday, 15 Sep Girl we are getting soooo close, try to hang in there. Tandbabythree -
Tuesday, 15 Sep Oh hun its no so bad I had my 2yr old at 34.5 weeks and he was 5 lbs 13oz and stayed in the regular nursery for 2 days cause his tummy was full of amniotic fluid and they had to suction him several times and he had a mild case of juandice but I had him 10 am wednesday and we both went home Friday evening. so I wouldnt be too panicked just take er easy and try to get to @ least 36 weeks then everything will be good but as for my story I got a happy ending @ 34.5 weeks! Tuesday, 15 Sep One of my best friends whos on this site, had her daughter at 35 weeks. She was fine, had to be in the special care nursery for about 10 days for jaundice i think, but that was all. NinaBo-Bina -
Tuesday, 15 Sep Don't be afraid..Be happy.. 35 weeks is o.k. I had my 1st child at 37 weeks. He was 6 lbs 1 oz. He was born with bacteria in his blood due to my ex & I had very opposite blood types and they now have shots for that to prevent my next babies from getting sick. He was in the hospital for 2 weeks and during Christmas of all times! I was devastated but he was the healthiest baby on the unit. Try and hang in there for a few more weeks but know the baby will be fine and you will see how much weights she will gain within the 1st month of delivery. Good Luck! I'll pray for you!
