20-11-2008 - Final blog on preg # 3

Since bleeding started last Thursday I have been through one hellish rollercoaster....
Anyways, it would take WAY too long to go through EVERY last detail, but I will fill you in on this mornings events...
Well, I went yesterday to the doc for a follow up to get the results of my ultrasound...I guess the tech wrote that there was a gestational sac measuring 5.5wks.... and b/c she wrote that MAYBE I got my dates wrong that it might be a viable pregnancy... Of course I thought this was ridiculous b/c I took a pregnancy test longer than 5.5 weeks ago....it was almost 8 weeks ago when I got a bfp.

Anywways, they told me they wouldn't do anything until they did another ultrasound and more blood tests....(that will be 6 in total in the last week alone)......I was so frustrated b/c I'd been having what I'd call the beginning of labour pains....not bad enough to scream but waaay worse than a period cramp where I couldn't walk when I was having a contraction.....

I told the doc that if they weren't going to consider a D & C yet, I NEEDED pain meds and a doctors note for work...b/c who wants to miscarry in the middle of an office...?...so they gave me both and sent me home....and to get an ultrasound on Friday...

So I went to bed last night took some pain meds....and feel asleep...woke back up at 4am in a massive amount of pain...so I went to the bathroom the sit on the toilet....hoping something would finally come out...but it was just pouring blood....no clots or tissue....so in my warped mind that was just desperate to stop the pain...I put a bit of water in the tub and tried to relax the muscles.....then bigger clots started to come out....but I could feel something pushing against my cervix that wouldn't come out, but blood kept finding its way passed..... I finally decided I needed help when I started to get dizzy and had emptied and refilled the bath tub 3 times b/c the water was SO red i couldn't see my feet in the bottom. Called my mom, who came over...she called 911......They came and took my vitals, and decided I needed emergency care....so they took me to the hospital by ambulance where I met the nicest nurse ever......
The doctor came in right away and checked me...he could see I was dialted and that tissue was "trying" to come out, but apparently I have an anterior cervix which means it point up instead of down into the birth canal.....He decided to try and pull it out with tools....he repositioned the speculum like I'm not exagerating...20 times?....I was screaming in pain everytime he did something....so the nurse suggested putting a pain med into my vein via the I.V they had already started.....which relaxed me and he was able to get it out...and preformed the rest of what they do during a D & C which is scraping the lining of the uterus for any other tissue or big clots.....( I was awake for this entire process)....And now I'm home and I know I'm on my way to recovering....
I'm just so relieved the worst part is over.

Omg! That is the worst part...I tried to stay on the toilet b/c everytime I got up I had more come out....Im sorry for you...I know how you feel...pain meds only help a lil bit...and they dont last long enough...at least the physical part is over now...you just get to bleed for another month or so to be reminded of it every time you pee!! good luck...get better...get some rest....drinnk a beer.
