17-2-2009 - Outcome of visit to Specialist

My mood while writing this blog: happy, and relieved!

okie dokie!

an update for my ladies....I went to the specialist today and gave him my background.... so he decided it was best to do a scan...and since he's a specialist he has a scan machine right in the room....so he put the doppler looking thing on my tummy....and I could see a blip...and he just kept repeating..."too early...much too early"..which had me a bit confused...and then he asked if I'd ever had an internal scan...and I told him I had with my last miscarriage....

So we proceeded with the internal ultrasound...and bam! a much clearer pic of a little baby! And to my shock and awe...I could see a little pulsating area...*holds breath*....yes the doc says..there is the heartbeat!....

I then flooded him with questions, how big is it(how far along)?, whats the BPM?...

lol, he paused for a bit and then let us hear the heartbeat...and told me it was 165BPM!!!!! yeahy!!!

he then measured the baby and told me I'm measuring 7 weeks 1 day...which is 10 days behind where I thought I was....but being the baby is so small, I know the measurements are very accurate....so I will be bumping back down to week 7 and my new due date is Oct.5th but if it means I have a healthy baby in there....I'm willing to accept that I'm only 7 weeks 1 day. :) so those of you who are in week 8 with me, I will be leaving you and going back to week 7....but of course we will keep in touch! :)
