My mood while writing this blog: recovering |
What a week!
I haven't been on in 6 days!!...reason?
I had a really sore elbow for most of my Florida trip...but didn't really think anything of it, but by Easter Sunday, I was in some intense pain and couldn't move my arm....So I went to the ER thinking they'd tell me to throw ice on it...not so much......Really long story short...after18 hours in the ER I was being preped for surgery because the doctors told me they were pretty sure I had a spetic infection in my left elbow....meaning?....I had an infection that could kill me and the baby...fast!...and if not that, I could lose my arm if they didn't act quick.
So I went through a 3 hour surgery in which I was put under...which is a big risk to the baby, but after surgery they did an ultrasound to see if things were ok, and everything looked ok. I spent 6 days in hospital receiving VERY strong antibiotics through IV. And morphine for my intense pain. After bajillion blood tests they thought I'd be ok to come home. The doc informed me that they also had some other guesses at what it was...they are still doing tests on fluid they took out of my elbow joint with a giant needle...he mentioned the possibilty of cancer, but hopefully more testing will rule it out.
As of now, My arm is in a full cast, I have a giant cut and gross stitches. And my other arm have an IV which I have to inject with my antibiotics at home. They said it's unlikely I'll ever get back full use of that arm with the damage that has been done, but at this point, I'm happy to be alive.
