22-7-2008 - Small Scare

On Sunday 20th July, 2008, my husband and I went to breakfast for a little treat, and it was very nice. I ate everything - pancakes, an armelette, bake and fruit!!! YUM . On the way out of the Mariot I wanted to run to the bathroom first to take another wee wee for the 100th time for the morning. When I pulled down my panty I found that my panty was very wet, and of course I immediately was like what the HELL? I decided that I would take a little smell of the wetness, just to ensure that I hadnt done a pre-wee wee, and no it did not smell of wee wee. In fact, the panty had more of a sweet like smell. At this point I quickly finished wee weeing, and met back my husband outside by the car. I was like hun, I think I need to call our doctor, and he was like, of no what happened? I told him, and then paged my doctor. Shortly after paging my doctor, she called me, I told her the situation, and she said it sounded like one of two things - either I had premature rupture of the membrane or it was a mass of discharge, but more fluidy based. I am a very calm person, so I just took a deep breath and then said a little prayer to myself in hopes that it was the better of the two scenarios. Anyhow, as the day progressed, I noticed that there was still a flow in the watery substance that was coming out of my vagina. In addition to that, every 5-10 minutes I was in the bathroom wee weeing, and long drawn out wee wees. It was very weird, as I couldnt even drink enough water throughout the day to keep up with the amount i was excreting. Anyways, for the balance of the day I kept my feet up, and that seemed to help somewhat. On Monday, my doctor called me early in the morning, and asked me to come see her. I went to work, and then headed to the doctor around 11:00am. On arrival to the doctor they asked me to pass urine and jump on the scale. When I went on the scale it read 134lbs, (i started off in my pregnancy at 112lbs) and the nurse seemed a little concerned, as 11 days prior to this I was at my regular check ups, and I was weighing 140lbs. I had lost 6 lbs. So then my worry started again! Anyhow, got in the docs office, and then she proceeded to examine me. It was a horrible examination, as this huge metal looking (beak-like) instrument has to me put in to my vagina and then opened up. She told me to cough a couple times. She was able to see the fluid, however, didnt believe it to be amniotic fluid. Anyways, after doing that violating test, she turned on the ultrasound machine, and started to take a llook. She wanted to make sure the amniotic fluid in the uterus was looking full... and to my sign of relief, yes it was fine, and more importantly, my baby was fine. He had grown from 2lbs 11oz to 3 lbs 4oz in 11 days, and he was more than active and putting on a show. So the doc said I could rest easy cuz he was fine, and accordinging to teh ultra sound, it would appear that all is well with my amniotic fluid. To be on the safe side though the doctor sent me to the lab with a swab of the fluid, and to atke some more tests, urine and blood to identify the fluid. Awaiting results, but on the hopeful side that all is good.

At this stage in my pregnancy, it was a scary time, but feel that hopefully it was just a scare, and my little boy will stay put for the next couple weeks, to get a lil more stronger for the real world at here!

hi-
I took a pic today and cant tell if I lool lower but definately bigger and fuller. My little girl is growing up a storm. Did you find out any more about the mysterious fuid leak yet?
