04-8-2008 - 2 Months Old!

So Alyvia is 2 months old already!! She'll be 10 weeks old this coming Wednesday.

She had her 2 month check up on Friday. To say the least... I HATED IT!!! There is NOTHING like the feeling of watching your child hurt, and not being able to do anything about it. She got some type of oral medication (I heard it was for vommiting?) and then 3 shots. One in her right leg, 2 in her left.

I couldn't watch... I was standing right in front of the door, on the other side of the room, away from Kamil, the nurse, and the baby. I must have been white in the face, because the nurse asked me if I was alright, and then Kamil pointed to a chair and told me to sit lol.

The first poke, she SCREAMED SO LOUD. It brought tears to my eyes. Then she started to cry to the point where she couldn't breath.. you know how babies get once in awhile. Then.. the worst part.. she started to make noises I had never heard come out of her before. It was absolutely HORRIBLE. I wanted to whisk her away right from the get-go and stab the nurse with her own needles.

After Alyvia was done being poked, she stopped crying, and was picked up by Kamil. She wasn't sure if she wanted to keep crying or not, so she just kinda made a few little noises. I couldn't take it anymore, and took her from Kamil, and held her close; cuddling and kissing her, and telling her how good of a baby she is.

All weekend, she had been pretty sleepy, and kinda cranky. I gave her some infant tylenol before we went in, (.4 mL), and gave her the other .4mL when we got home, and was able to give her .8 4 hours later. I think that kind of aided her in being sleepy, too. We didn't go to church Saturday morning because she was up for a bit Friday night, and had been really cranky. But she's good now! She's currently passed out on my lap. :P

She's gained 5 pounds since birth, and grew 2.5 inches! I've got me a chubby bunny =D
