03-11-2009 - Stubborn Placenta OkMy mood while writing this blog:
Ok

Went to the doctor today for the usual check up and to discuss my ultrasound from two weeks ago. My placenta was at the edge of my cervix at 19 weeks and has only moved 1.3cm. Apparently it needs to move 3cm before he will even consider letting me attempt natural birth. He said we can wait another two weeks, have a scan and see if anything has changed but he isn't very hopeful. I have been trying not to think about the birth one way or another until after this scan and have to admit to being more than a little disappointed. I know that at the end of the day a healthy baby is all I want but I feel a bit cheated.

So I will try to remain positive and hope for some miracle movement, otherwise I will be having a c-section in week 39.

better have a c-sec than try a natural birth and have the baby under stress...its strange but i founf the c-sec to be really good for me...yes it takes a week to heal you enough to move around and another to feel a-ok, but so worth it....natural birth horrer stories have scared me so...baby pooped...swallowed myconium...cord wrapped around the neck...shoulder got dislocated...not trying to scare you...but doesnt a c-sec sound much better in light of all this?? also have a friend whose rectum moved out due to all the pushing....ewwww and ouchhhhh....so considering the options, think its ok to have a c-sec...

Yes keep positive hun, the important thing is that you and bubs meet each other happy and healthy, in the end it doesnt matter how we birth, im hoping so uch for a natural birth too, but i guess in the end its not up to us, its up to our bodies!!
