17-11-2009 - Placenta Moved HappyMy mood while writing this blog:
Happy

So excited! Went for another ultrasound today and my placenta has moved 2.8cms. My doctor said he wanted 3cm but that it was close enough to give natural birth a try. They will just monitor me really closely when I first get to the hospital when labour starts. I'm so excited. It has been so hard not knowing whether I was going to get the opportunity or whether a c-section was going to be scheduled. After my obstetrician appointment I spoke to my midwife, which was lovely because we could finally talk about what was going to happen rather than trying to hedge our bets both ways.

Also had my strep b test, must admit that I do like the way the Australian system works, I was handed the swab and got to take the sample by myself. We seem to be poked and prodded a lot less than our American friends. I only know that my cervix is closed because of the scan or I would be none the wiser.

Pokey has been doing all the right things while I have been patiently waiting for the placenta to move and his/her head is sitting right on my cervix with spine running up my left hand side - which explains all the knees and hands I keep feeling off to the right. I'm so excited now I can barely sit still.
