15-6-2009 - First Blog - 5 to 6 weeks TiredMy mood while writing this blog:
Tired

My friend Courtney directed me to this site after she realized how much I was stressing out about everything and insisted that this would help me out by easing my mind. So far, so good.

I recently found out I was 5 weeks pregnant on June 9. After going to the doctor (June 2) and having my progesterone level checked to see if I ovulated last month, I got a call saying I did NOT ovulate. I feared the worst and thought that I was going to have trouble having children. I began feeling cramps and my breasts were extremely sore so I thought I was getting ready to start. We went out the following weekend and had a few drinks. I started to feel stomach pains like my body was not happy with the alcohol. I was feeling real weak and it was hard for me to take showers without having to sit down a couple of times. I decided to buy a pregnancy test since my period was due that day. I woke up the following morning, June 9, and took a pregnancy test. I hopped in the shower because I was running late and looked out to read the result and it said POSITIVE! I kept peeking out because I couldn't believe it. I went to work and called my doctor to see if I could come in and give a blood sample to make sure. They called me the next day and said my hCg level was 921! I was definitely pregnant, but my progesterone level was 6.3 - very low and they were worried and wanted to get me started on progesterone ASAP!! I immediately became worried because I drank the previous weekend when I would have been 4 weeks, but have since realized that sooooo many people become pregnant not realizing either. I was worried I had caused harm to the baby during the fourth week since that is when the brain is forming. I go a week and a half from now to have my first ultrasound and am soooo excited!! I will keep you posted :) Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!
