My mood while writing this blog: In deep thought |
Hellllllllllllllllllllllllllo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry I have not been on line lovely ladies, it was a long weekend here in the UK. I was busy busy busy! sorry in advance for the long blog.
So on Friday as you know, I went to the hospital to have Emily-Rose monitored as she was very quiet. All worked out well, my goodness I hope she doesn't scare me like that again. I went to aquanatal after the hospital and spoke to my midwife about it (she runs the class). As always my midwife was sweet and understanding and said I did the right thing to put my mind at rest. Emily has been busy since which is great.
On Saturday, Steve and I decided to have the day alone. We went to babies r us and picked up a few small things like cot sheets, nail clippers, towels etc. I think I have just about bought everything I could possibility need, oooh except nipple cream, how expensive is that???? GBP 10.00!!! I bet they get sore enough for that to seem like a small price to pay!! lol. All we have to buy now is the playpen I want to give Emily-Rose some protection from Nelsons wagging tail (and Nelson some protection when Emily gets bigger! lol) and the pram (travel system), which is being bought on 13th June - I cannot WAIT to get it!! Other than that I am just collecting nappies each time I go shopping.
On Sunday, Steve and I drove down to see our family. We arrived at Steves parents where were were staying and Steves grandma was there. We had a lovely lunch out in the garden, soaking up the sunshine. Steves family are MEGA excited about Emily-Rose, so she was the topic of conversation along with my belly. hehe
Monday was a bank (national) holiday and my dads birthday so we went over to my parents house, it was another glorious sunny day. Both my brothers still live at home so they were there when I arrived. Then my sisters joined us with their partners, as you know one of my sisters is pregnant - she is due tomorrow!!!! I think I am bigger than her!! lol quite depressing really. No, not really she was only a UK size 4-6, thats US size 0-2 so she was MUCH smaller than me to start with! My niece was there, she is 8 years old (9 in August) my goodness she is growing up so fast, she is really looking forward to being an older sister. We had a great time. We then went to see Steves aunt and uncle, they took us to their allotment, sooooooo many different fruits and veggies growing. Its so cool. I grew quite alot myself last year, but this year I dont have the energy.
Yesterday as I was at that end of the motorway and Steve was in London for meetings I went into the office. Nelson stayed at my parents-in-law with my FIL. It was great to see the team. They made a big fuss of me which was lovely, most people were asking how long I had left. When I said about 11 weeks, the normal comment was 'wow you are big' or 'are you sure you will go that long'. I think it because I dont see them very often so my belly is a shock when they do see me. I dont think I am big as there is a lady at aquanatal who is due the same day as me and although we are carrying very differently, I think we are comparable size. I will post a pic over the next couple of days, you can be the judges! lol
My ex-boss who has never had children of her own asked if she could feel next time Emily kicked. We were in a concall together and Emily woke up, my ex-boss said 'did I see movement then?' I said yes, do you want to feel? so she put her hand on my belly and as normal Emily kicked as if to say 'off of my space!' My ex-boss was in total awe. So sweet.
We got home about 6.45pm last night, which is good. We left about 4.15pm so the journey was pretty good seeing as it was rush hour. I was sooooooooooooooo tired last night. We had something to eat and I was in bed by 7.45pm. It was fun but very tiring.
So that was the weekend. Today I am very busy at work again, I normally cover UK, Belgium, Luxembourg, Poland, Czech Republic and Hungary but at the moment I am also helping with Norway, Sweden and Switzerland. Very hectic and very complicated when your language skill are basic to say the least!! hehe Its good though, as the week will go quickly. I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL SATURDAY - we are having our 4d scan. I am mega excited at seeing Emily again. After the scan we are going to the baby show in the city then in the evening we have my SIL and her BF staying over til Monday.

'In deep thought'. Thats because I am constantly thinking about my dear friend from this site who found out yesterday that her baby sadly passed away at 6 weeks and 4 days, her third miscarriage. I am totally devastated for her, I hoped with all my heart that she would have great news yesterday, but life has been so cruel and she has another angel to grieve. I hope in time my story and Helens can give her hope and courage to keep going. Its fourth time lucky for Helen and I, I am sure it will be the same for my dear friend x x Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
Lots of love to you all, Rach and Emily-Rose x x

Thursday, 28 May Yes the nipple cream is expensive but it works like chap stick on dry cracked lips. You will need it if you are planning on breast feeding and sticking to it. A good word of advise, buy the cream now and start to put it on everynight it will really help by the time that baby comes cause breast feeding is so painful and first and if your nipples are already moistened then it will help, You will have less pain. minkymoo78 -
Thursday, 28 May Yippee for 3rd trimester! I know what you mean about the nipple cream, I can't force myself to buy it at that price but I know I will have to and I'm sure it will be worth it. xx sarahann -

Wednesday, 27 May The 3rd trimester already? That's so exciting isn't it? I'm heading to Babies R Us in a few minutes to pick up some seat covers for the van. It's amazing how quickly the kids manage to dirty things up. My van's been puked on and peed on and had koolaid and stickers and food thrown everywhere. So my husband took it out to be shampooed and I told him that the kids can't go back in until we buy those covers. Besides, I'll take any opportunity to go baby shopping. :-) Wow... The 3rd trimester... rooey -
