My mood while writing this blog: where is the time going? |
Hi ladies
I hope you are all doing great!!!
Thanks so much for all of the responses to my stretch mark blog. You are all so sweet. I am disappointed with the stretchies, but like many of you said they are worth it :)
OMG!!!! I only have FOUR weeks and five days to go. I am starting to panic!!! not about labour and the birth, although I am a little worried about the unknown, I am more panicked about things I want to get done before Emily-Rose arrives. Alot of it I am relying on my DH to do but he has no sense of urgency and its REALLY annoying me. I keep nagging him, to be honest I am bored of hearing it so he must be by now.
I guess if I am honest, none of the things HAVE to be done but it would be so much better if they were. Like the dishwasher needs looking at before I call the engineer, the washing machine isnt draining automatically so I have to manually move the dial again I just want DH to check its not something simple before I call the engineer. The kitchen ceiling needs repair (all he need do is get some quotes), we are trying to sell the car. I want the garage tidy so I can keep the pram in there (we have steps up to the front door), I have some shelves and a window blind I want up in Emilys room.......the list goes on......oh and he STILL hasnt read any of the books I bought him, yet he seems confident he will make a great birthing partner......ARGH!!!
It is typical of me to be worrying like this. I just want everything to be perfect. I know I need to let go of this side of my personality, the house will not be perfect all of the time when we have a new baby. Surely its better to get things done now so we can concentrate on our little girl when she arrives.
So last week. It was good, I have already updated on the midwife appointment on Monday.
Tuesday was our three year wedding anniversary, we had a lovely meal and chilled out together. Steve got me a beautiful card and some flowers. We planned to go on a picnic on Saturday but the weather was horrid.
Wednesday I had my scan, all looks great with Emily-Rose, I am not going to post the pic, its just so unclear :( She was weighing 5lbs and 12oz. I have another scan on 5th August to check on her again. I STILL didnt get to see my normal specialist, but the doc this time was much calmer!! haha He said there is no reason why I cant have a normal birth, he would recommend I give birth in hospital but its my choice. Obviously it all depends on how the scan goes on 5th, if she is too big I am guessing they will offer me some options??? I forgot to ask how much longer I have to take the low dose aspirin, so I had better call my Dr and ask.
Friday I went to aqua-natal, which was fun! We had the midwife who works us really hard. I was so exhausted at the end! I swapped numbers with three other ladies who have been going as long as me. One is due the week before me, one the same day and one the week after. As I cant go this Friday we thought we would swap numbers in case any of us go into labour! ARGH!!! makes it so real!!!!!!
Saturday Steve and I went upto the mountain railway, despite the rain. Its a little steam train that takes you through the scenery. Lovely!! We took Nelson. I called the railway during the week and arranged for Steve to go in with the driver on the return journey, he got to pull the whistle and all sorts! lol, he was like a little boy. He is only the 4th person to be allowed in with the driver, so it was a special treat. Just goes to show you should always ask ;) I thought I was just being cheeky on the off chance and pulled it off! lol.
Sunday we went to a local beach, Steves family are staying in a holiday park right near the sea this week as we are all going to my SIL graduation on Friday. We had a lovely time there, walked on the beach - even wading into the sea....it was freeeeeezing! We went into the arcades and I ended up on the dance mat!! lmao, a 35 week preggo lady dancing to disco music. So funny. I kept getting through the levels, boy I was sooooo tired at the end. Lol. I am sure my FIL took a video, if he did I will get a copy and put it on here.
ONLY 8 working days to go!!! I cant wait, work is really getting in my way. I want to get my hospital bag together, which means going to the shops but I am stuck here working. lol I am also getting very tired during the day as I am not sleeping at all well. Oh well, I can last until Friday 24th.
Congrats to all the new mummies and the new BFPs. Keep going my lovely TTC friends, its all worth it x x
Take care all,
Rach & Miss Emily-Rose

Tuesday, 14 Jul I understand totally about wanting all those things done before Emily arrives and men seem to have such blind faith that all will just work itself out. All I can say is it is worth the nagging especially over the washing machine....I did so much extra washing when Lucy was born it was unbelievable how much washing such a little person needs. So if you manage to get him to do one thing try and get him to do the washing machine. I myself bought lovely shelves for Lucy's room I got them almost a year ago and they are still waiting to be put up lol!!!! xxx ladylocks02 -

Monday, 13 Jul Awww hun nice to hear from you thanx for the update! All sounds great! I know however how you feel about getting all pannicky about things not being done and feeling like there's a real urgency to get then done before Emily arrives so you can concentrate on her i mean the last thing you need is to be stressing over things then with visitors popping in aswell etc... but unfortunatley babe men for some reason don't feel it they think 'oh it can wait' 'it's not that bad' But to us it is it got that bad in my maternity leave before bubs was born i painted the kitchen not such a good move becuase to reach the walls above the worktops i either stood on them or on a stepladder silly me but i got sick of asking mo to do it, I know he was busy as always but it was never gonna be done and it needed doing but my head was a whirl of things that needed doing and fast that i stressed over them so i do know how you mean, Woop not long til you finish work then yippee! I'll bet your soo pleased as i'll bet your really tired! And not long til you give birth i cannot wait to see pics! And hear how it all went im hoping you either have the same experience as me or better! But i am soo pleased with how mine went i can't imagine better you'd be pleased with it anyway! all the best mwah! x x stepheni775 -
