15-8-2009 - 40 weeks! Due date today

My mood while writing this blog:
Waiting!!!

Hello all!

Thank you all so much for your messages. I am working through them at the moment.

Well, the not so big news is that I am still pregnant! lol. No real sign that Miss Emily will be here any time soon. I had another attempt at a sweep on Friday but again, it could not be done as my cervix was still too closed. Although it was slightly open so at least I can hold onto the hope that something is going on in there! lol. My midwife said my cervix is central and very soft, it will just take Emily to give it a little push and it is in great shape to give way easily.

I went to aquanatal after the sweep attempt, then bounced on my fit ball in the evening. This morning I bounced on my ball again, had a walk around the shops, took the dog for a walk and shortly I am going to do some housework. Gotta keep upright and moving!!! If there is still no change on Monday, I go for another sweep appointment, then on Wednesday its back to the specialist where I think he will book me in to be induced. So I can at least see an end in sight, by next weekend my beautiful little girl should be here!

Today is a strange day for me, obviously its Emilys due date, but its also the date I originally conceived my first baby in 2007. Its also the date in 2008 I lost my third baby. So strange as when Steve and I started trying for our fourth pregnancy (Emily) I got lots of internet preggo tests, they all came through with the same expiry date......15th August 2009. So today I feel a bit mixed up, mainly excited for the new life we will be leading very soon, but I will never forget my three lost angels x x x

I am doing ok though. I am feeling pretty good, obviously a little disappointed that it looks like I will go overdue but babies have their own agenda! I am having quite a bit of trouble sleeping at night, I cant get comfy and my hips are sooooooo painful but I know its not going to last forever.......well the sleepless nights will but hopefully the hip pain will stop after delivery.

So thats in from me. I will 100% get on here once labour starts to let you all know. I hope you are all doing great. Thanks again for your unending support. COME ON EMILY-ROSE!!!!!

I ran to check your page today to check on you. Most first babies are late. Don't sweat it. She will be here soon. I am very anxious too. I have about 7 weeks today and 3 more weeks of work still. I am having a miserable time sleeping lately too. Looks like were are not gonna sleep til the babies are in college, so I am trying to get used to the idea. Good luck - PLEASE let us know if anything happens!!!! =) You have all my best wishes.

Oh wow!! It's your due date! It has gone so fast... I know it must be torture for you, but your little girl Emily will be here very soon. Try walking up lots of steps or up steep hills, my doctor told me that's meant to help. My daughter just had her 2nd birthday yesterday, 15th August. I hope things start happening for you soon x

Rachel, I'm sure, like you said this has been a day of mixed emotions... I think I would feel the same way. Just think, pretty soon you will have Emily Rose in your arms and it will all be worth it. Well Happy D Day!!! Try not to think of it as Emily being late...think of it as the due date was wrong. :) I know it feels like she's never going to come, but she will. Just like when you begin to potty train her...you often wonder if she'll walk down the isle in her wedding dress and a diaper!! Enjoy your day. I think you should do something special. xoxo

It can't possibly be too much longer. :-) I may have to bump my guess birth weight of 8 lb 3 oz if you don't have her in the next day or two. By Monday I'll go with 8 lb 10 oz. :-) Is it really the 15th already? Wow. Hmmm. How about the 18th for her birthday? That sounds like a good day. :-)

Isn't it strange how certain numbers or dates seem to re-occur in life? So glad that you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully she'll decide to make her appearance soon for you - you must be like a cat on a hot tin roof waiting for her to make her debut. As for the SPD, it can take up to 6 months to return to normal (sorry if that was not what you wanted to hear). A message for Emily-Rose: Come on Princess - your Mummy and Daddy are waiting!!
