******Labour dust****** Sounds like you are already making progress with those cramps. I had those for about two days before Cody decided he was ready to be here, so I'm guessing it won't be long now! Can't wait to see pics of Emily!!!!

Lots of labor dust your way momma. I hope you can go into labor on your own because it is supposed to be much better that way. I was scheduled to be induced for both my babies and went into labor the day before. Maybe a bodies way of knowing what is going to happen so it kicks itself into gear? Maybe you will get lucky and go into labor too. The gel too I think is what kicked me into hard labor this time. My cervix was completely closed at 11:30am the day I got my gelling and went into labor and had my baby @ 4:05pm the same day! Good luck :o)

I've been peeking in almost every day now on Emily Rose watch. Sounds like it won't be long. I was 2 weeks late and I know my mom went on alot of bumpy car rides trying to get me to hurry up. I was late being born and I haven't been on time for anything since!

Hi Rach just wanted to say that a little swelling is suppose to be normal just before labour as your body makes extra blood to cope with birth an this makes u swell a little so with any luck ul get a natural labour, sending u tons of labour dust. X

Awww hun i cant wait to see emily.Im realy getting excited for u now.Try nipple stimulation,my friend did it coz she was 2 days overdue and went into labour 2 hours later.Walking on street with one foot off the curb and the other on the pavement ive heard works.Also relaxing and imagining ur cervix open and baby moving down works too.As u know i was induced and yeah its not a walk in the park but not soooo bad.Id suggest taking that epidural,sometimes helps to dialate quicker.Oh yeah if u need oxytocin,dont let them up the drip too much too quick,they did it to me and it was hell.Have some sex too lol i know its the last thing ur thinking of but it could just help.Put those lovely feet up and read a book while u can.:-D

I was a week over due w/ my first son before they induced me. I think when you go over a week & you have started to dialate then being induced is not so bad, of course I would rather go naturally as well, but you just never know with pregnancies. Each one is different. I will aslso add that I was induced after having my cervix swept 5 times & still nothing happened...I ended up having a great labor, it totaled 9 hrs, but the labor & pushing part was really only an hour. Try not to worry & hopefully nature will take it's course. Good luck to you!

I am sending plenty of labour dust your way. With the pains you have been having sounds just like the same I had a couple of days before I went into labour with Lucy so I think that is a good sign. I think things sound good for the sweep tmrw so good luck for that hun....its not really bad just uncomfortable! I think you will have little Emily in your arms before Monday hun xxx

Well you have a really great outlook on this! You are in better spirits than I was, that is for sure. Definitely by Monday you should be induced. Some babies need that extra push, I think it's after 2 weeks overdue, babies will start losing the fluid that they need and can become very sick. So don't feel bad if you have to be induced, there is nothing wrong with it. Good Luck!!

Hi ladies,
Thank you all for your comments on the subject of being induced. I have read them all and take on board your advice. Also big hugs to all who have been checking up on me, I really appreciate it x
I had my consultant appointment this morning. Urine, blood pressure etc was perfect. Movements are fine, all is looking good. I have swelling in the fingers, toes and face but nothing of concern.
I had a chat with my Dr, we have decided to go ahead with another sweep attempt from the midwife tomorrow. Then hope that something happens over the next few days/weekend. If not, I will be going in on Monday morning (24th) to be induced, firstly getting prostin gel to try to get things moving. The Dr thinks as I am having terrible problems sleeping because of the pain of SPD, its the right time to go for medical intervention. I am really happy with this decision, I feel so relaxed now I know the plan.
Obviously I am really really really hoping Emily-Rose arrives at the weekend or before. I would much prefer to go into labour natually but I think on Monday at 9 days overdue I am happy that I have give nature enough time to work.
Last night and today I have been having period pain type cramps along with sharp pains in my cervix, mainly when Emily is moving (which she is doing alot!) so I am hopeful that my body is getting ready. Along with the sweep tomorrow I may just get my natural birth!! I am also doing ALL the old wives tales, so one way or the other I will get to meet my beautiful, long awaited, perfect princess early next week at the latest! I am beyond excited, I have no words to describe how I feel. I am totally in love with my daughter already, meeting her is only going to make my love even stronger!!
