My mood while writing this blog: VERY happy but VERY tired!! |
Well hellllllllllllllllo!!!
How is everyone??? I have missed you all x x Massive thank you for all of the lovely comments on my last blog and the wonderful things you wrote for Emily-Roses pics. So sweet. I think she is utterly gorgeous and totally perfect, but then I am slightly bias!! hehe
So, life is VERY different now (stopped to clear up sick) with time and schedules a memory from the past. I am not sure what day it is, let alone what the time is!! lol
Emily-Rose is doing great. We have had a few small issues. Constipation on Friday last week and a sticky eye this week. Both cured with cooled boiled water :) She is feeding really well, around every 3 hours. I am breastfeeding but having to top up with formula as mummy milk is just not satisfying her. I have bought an electric breast pump so I can pump between feeds with the aim of getting my (stopped to pick Emily up) milk production increased. We will see, I have found it hard work to be honest but I will keep trying :)
(Stopped to feed Emily) I am doing really well. I am able to get in and out of bed and chairs unaided!!! 99% of the time I feel no pain, occasionally I get a sharp reminder that I need to take it easy. My pain relief given to me by the hospital ends in a couple of days and I am confident I will be fine without them (I have reduced the dosage over the past couple of days). My bleeding has slowed right down, I am wearing normal pads now - I cant wait for that to stop completely!!
I weighed myself this morning, to my surprise I am back to my pre baby weight!! yipee!!! Although, I was overweight before I got preggo so I am going to continue to eat well, take lots of walks and gently start the exercises given to me by the midwife. I am hoping to lose more weight but I am dont have a defo target right now and I am not going to get hung up on it.
I will post a 2 week PP pic this weekend. I am pleased with the reduction in my tummy but still have a long way to go to get it pulled in again, some days I feel fat :( I am back in some of my original clothes but I am not going to force myself in them as my scar is still tender.
Steves parents came down last weekend, I restricted them to staying only one night. It went ok, my MIL was very helpful. We had a good time, but it really took it out of me.
So thats it from me, I will get a bit more organised and get some more pics of princess Emily on here. Hopefully I will get it done at the weekend, as Steve goes back to work next week and I am sure it will take me sometime to get a routine going. I will be honest, I am a bit scared of having Emily all day on my own. I hope I cope ok! Steve has been so brilliant, I could not have got through without him.
BIG congrats to Rooey on the birth of her princess!!! Helen, I am so flipping excited for you I cannot wait for you to join me in the mummy club. Liz, I miss you babe I will try my best to get on line and catch up with you. Lynn, thinking of you x x I have over 500 messages to catch up on, so I will get through them and message you soon :) :)
Take care all,
Love and big sloppy kisses
Rach & Emily-Rose x x x

Thursday, 3 Sep Hi honey, if you can try not to top up with formula as much as possible that is the best option as the more u suppliment the more your mi9lk supply will drop. if u can just feed feed and feed non stop then your milk supply will increase...she will not starve and u definately have enough milkm so pls dont doubt that. she will feed more on day 5, 10 21, 28 as these are the days she has growth spurts and is feeding a lot to get your milk supply up to the next level again. if u must suppliment try to to pump and give top ups of expressed after a feed. that is what i did and it worked really well. any questions pls pm me or msg me on facebook- gemma logan mcrae. katekins -

Wednesday, 2 Sep Thanks for the update. How great that you are already wearing pre-preggo clothes. You sound like motherhood fits you perfectly and I know you will do great after Steve goes back to work (better than Steve probably, I'm sure he will have a tough timing leaving little Emily-Rose the first time). sarahann -

Wednesday, 2 Sep Your Emily-Rose is so beautiful Rach. Congrats momma & daddy!! If it helps any, at about 6 or 8 weeks I topped Abigail's last feeding off with formula so she'd sleep longer. It worked beautifully. Life is so different and exciting now 'eh? Oh Rach it gets so unbelievably better and more exciting as they grow and develop and oh my gosh you're going to have a blast... enjoy it because I'm sure they won't be so fun when they get to be teenagers LOL HUGS my friend and congratulations again. proud.mummy.of.3xxx -

Wednesday, 2 Sep Thanks hun! So glad everything is going well! WEll done with the breastfeeding you seem to be doing everything you can. Is she ok having bottle and breast then? I think that would be ideal to do as you can have a break if you need or the partner can do a night feed if necessary. God I can't wait to try all of this. I have my sterilser out ready just incase I can't breast feed or need to do what you're doing. What formula is she having? god I'm so excited and so happy for you and Steve ! xxx lilly10 -

Wednesday, 2 Sep Aww hun its so great to hear that you are doing well. I agree the breastfeeding is hard as I did it with Lucy but see how you go and dont pressure yourself. I am sure you will be just fine on your own with Emily, slowly you will get yourself into a little routine and you will relax. Take care hun xxx
