01-1-2009 - 1st Appt and Ultrasound OkMy mood while writing this blog:
Ok

I had my first appointment on December 29th it went very well. I have a great OB. He delivered my last son who is 9y. I have known him for a number of years and actually we have worked together when I was a surgical nurse. My husband could not attend, so my 22y daughter came with me and she was great. I was a total airhead at the appt. After I went into the BR for a UA. I went into 2 examine rooms that were not mine. After the doctor examined me he stated that he thought I might be farther along then my 8 weeks. He does not routinely due US. He sent me to the Radiology Dept and had my first ever vaginal US. It went well saw the little peanut, 175bpm. The peanut is a little farther along. Changed my due date to 8/4/09. That is always reassuring to hear the heartbeat.
The doctor and I also spoke about the 12 week congential testing I could do. I chose to wave this. I am considered advanced maternal age at 41y so it is an option. I may reconsider at 20weeks and take an amnio I am not sure.
Last but not least, he asked how I was feeling and of course like crap. I explained my symptoms. I asked why because I never had "MS" with my first two but this one has been aweful. He stated again "advanced maternal age" whatever. I am feeling better that I had a week or two ago.
