In Texas the law is rear facing until 1 years old. The infant seats usually last until 22 pounds usually around 1 years old and it's time to get one of the bigger ones.

We're in Australia and I don't know any laws applying to it here, but our little girl has had very strong neck muscles from day one and we turned her seat around about 2 months ago (4 months old). She likes to be able to see us and what's going on around her.

They say once there over 6 months and have good head support, and there over 8kg in most car seats you can turn them to face forward. The longer you having them facing the rear its much safer for them!

Check with your local police station (or even on the side of the car seat too). I know the laws are different in Aust to USA as well. If Seth is big, he might have to go in one of those convertible car seats that are up-right but can be strapped in rear facing.

I think you have to wait until a year to have them facing the front, depends on what state you are in.
Also, depends on the car seat you bought when you have to change as well. The infant car seat we bought goes up to 32 lbs so that will last us up to a year most likely. Most infant car seats go up to 22 lbs though. It should have it on the car seat.

Hi all,first of all havent been on in aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages! sorry. This is basically an update on seth etc..he is 5 months tommorow! Man has it gone quick or what?? He is getting so big now...not rolling over yet though,he does from his tummy so his side but thats it,he is eating rice cereal hes not a huge fan of it really...going to try him on sweet potato next i think....other than that everythings good. No teething just yet,although i think i see SOMETHING!! uuh oh.....
I was wondering also at what age do u change car seats? and when do u change to be facing the front not the rear??
