11-3-2009 - Trip To Labor And Delivery

My mood while writing this blog: relaxed now

Well heres one for you all.....I called another hospital because it was just bothering me so bad and my husband about this baby and all and what my doctor has been saying and then the things that he is saying is fine but not having any proof to it and refusing to check things out......

So anyways I was talking to this other hospital and told them what was going on with me and what my concerns were, and all....and the lady on the phone said we aren't able to get you in for anything until March 27th. at 10am., but she kept saying but if you go to the labor and delivery department in her own little words trying to just get me to go and do that she said you can get your second opinion today, and have a test done to make sure that your water isn't broke instead of just being told by mouth with no proof. So I am like ok....and then she said and if you do that they will check the baby out by ultrsound and all and make sure all is good with he/she as well for you......So I say thank you and then go ahead and tell my husband about it and everything and he says well let me go and get changed and we will get going........

So now we are there, and oh these people are so nice and omg are they funny as hell too, they did nothing but pick on me and my hubby and we picked right back on them too, and they were very prompt at everything and ran tests, and all, they swabed me with a cotton swab to see if I was leaking fluid and that had to be sent to the lab for the results, and that came back 100% no leaking of fluids so that was great one thing down, they had me hooked up to a monitor while I was there, 2 things down now, and then they did the ultrasound of the baby and messured the amount of fluid that was surrounding the baby and he said that was also great because they like to see normally no less than 5 but between 5 and 8 was a great amount of fluid and mine was 10 so now thats 3 things down, and the baby he said looked awsome a bit on the smaller side, but he said it was ok nothing to worry about at all there.......so now 4 things down this is great.......

Now comes the funny part he asked me while I was laying there getting the ultrasound done and said I heard you explaining about the baby's gender parts and how swollen they are and that you wanted to know if it was normal for them to be so swollen that no one can tell the baby's gender at all, and I said yeah, he asked me would you like a freebe, and I am like what? he said I will give you a freebe we aren't suppose to do a gender look, but I will do it for you.....I laughed outloud I couldn't help it, and said to him you can try, but you aren't going to be able to tell this baby's gender at all, and he said now give me a chance here and don't bash all of us doctors at once...lol.....So he looked and he looked and did this on and on all over my belly trying to get a view of what this baby was for sure, and this went on for about 15 minutes, and finally he stops and says I can't tell, I laughed again and told him that I told him so......lol....he said if I had to take a guess though I would say a boy though, but I am only about 65% sure of that and he said I can't even really be that though either, and I said why he goes because I can't find a penis anywhere in there.......LMFAO.....I just lost it now, he asked me what was so funny and my husband mind you was laughing just as hard, and we said because that is what all the doctors are telling us no one can find a penis and no one can make sure what the baby is sure either.....he said yeah well I am only about 65% sure it's a boy and I said well thats not enough to make me want to go out and buy all boy clothes.....He said no I wouldn't do that if I were you either......Then he explained why he couldn't be certin at all, and that was because the baby's legs are chunky, and kinda out of room in there and there for they are squeezed together kinda, and the baby's cord is down there making it hard to see as well too he said and for all he knew what he was seeing down there could of been all cord he wasn't sure....So we knew it was going to be a waste of his time, but we give him credit he really tried to be the one to reveal the baby's sex, but what do ya know another nope can't tell.....lol.......

So anyways after all that was said and done all labs came back too looking really good and I was sent home.....So I was very happy and so was my husband to know that our little one is ok still in there and oh yeah he checked me with his hand too to see if I was dilated and I am a fingertip he said......So I better be careful
