Hi Guys, I need ur imput. We had decieded a while back that we will name the baby Maya or Maia. My brother told me in indian Maya means -illusion. So we r thinking of a new name. What do u guys think of Makayla? Pls be honest, as I don't want this kid to be teased at school. It can also be spelt as Makaila or Michaela. See my hubby's name is Michael, and his niece is named Michelle, so pls be honest and say if u think that is a cute name for a girl. We can't make our minds up.

Being honest...
i do think the name Makayla spelt this way is a lovely name..like someone said not to common these days either....but i do think some cruel people or other children will try to shorten it to be cruel.
There ant no use lying saying it wont be shortened because it will hence why i decided not to use devlin cause it will get shortened to dev... which is horried. So its now kody which can't really be any shorter.
All names get shortened whether we like it or not thats life these days kids are cruel and like to tease others kids. The name is usually first and if they can't pick on the name they try to find something else to slag them off with. I was called ginger and big eyes. its kinda funny now thinking of it but it was hard when i was younger.

Makayla looks and sounds just right to me. Ma-Kay-la. Now i just hope i did get the name right.

I love that name!!! and dont worry about your child being teased, pick a name that means something you you and your husband. My sons name is Zion. Me and my husbandmet at a reggae concert and we love reggae and ZIon is a popular rastafarian term. our sons name means something to us. Hell my name is Dezmar, no one ever teased me!!!

Makayla is a beautiful name & is not too uncommon these days. I'm sure your little girl will not be teased for that name, I would guess she would be complimented on how pretty her name is. I've always liked that name!

I love it.. My husbands name is michael too so I find that very cute... Were naming our daughter taylor but I think that name is beautiful and dont worry so much about what a name means ect... and names are all different now days.. were in that kind of generation where people are going for very different names whichi i think is just awsome... keep me posted...
