My mood while writing this blog: Help |
Hi guys, it has been a while since I blogged. We are ok. Thank God that is it Friday, so tonite my hubby will be able to help me with feeding Emma. :) I have a question. My sister is insisting that I put the baby to sleep on her stomach, saying that she will sleep better and longer. What do u guys think? She had 2 boys and that was how she had them sleep after a month. Pls advise if u can ladies, as I am so scared..thanks.

Wednesday, 19 Aug I only let Abbie sleep on her tummy if she was in front of me on a blanket. I kept her in a spacer on her back in her crib until she was old enough to flip herself. Once she was old enough to turn herself back and forth I let her sleep on her tummy. I still checked on her every five mins though LOL Congratulations on your new daughter! baby[bump]mama -
Saturday, 8 Aug personally i would NEVER put my child on his/her stomach. the chances of SIDS is greatly increased when you do that. I had my son in the NICU and the doc/nurses had him on his tummy but that was only becaue he was hooked up to monitors and was watch 24/7.The docs that i talk to say that you always should but your baby on their back. if your baby wakes up on their tummy-its okay because your baby did it...not you. Friday, 7 Aug i agree with the other 3 ladies. Babys are much safer on there backs. I also agree with diegirl id only put baby on there tummy if they were snoozing on my chest dreaelise14 -
Friday, 7 Aug Unfortunately a friend of mine lost her baby to SIDS at one month & one day old. The baby was put to sleep on his stomach in the bassinet & there was some stuff in the bassinet with the baby (his blanket, a stuffed animal, and a bottle). Not sure exactly what the cause of death was, but I'd stick with putting the baby to sleep on their back. Yeah, they might sleep longer on their tummies, but I still recommend going with the research that says they are safer on their backs. Best wishes to you & your little darling! Gigantor -
Friday, 7 Aug I let my baby sleep on her belly but only during the day when I could see her (she slept in her bassinet near me in the living room). Never at night. I was too scared of SIDS. Diegirl -
Friday, 7 Aug To prevent SIDS they say *always* put baby to sleep on their backs. Maybe do a little research online and see what you think. I have had 5 kids now and I have always followed that rule unless baby was snoozing on their tummy on my chest. Other than that back is best.
