| 03-7-2008 - I am so grateful! | My mood while writing this blog:Grateful |
Girls, this is too good to not share with you! Some of you know that since the birth of my son, Tony and I have decided I would become a stay at home mom and be with our kids. It is wonderful to be able to spend this special time with them, but it makes things a little tight around here. Relying only on Tony's income gets us the things we need, but now less often what we want. We were in Babies R Us on Sunday picking up a big box of diapers and a big box of wipes, and I took a stroll over to the playthings. I saw some stuff I really wanted to get for baby Tony, but right now new expensive toys are out of the question for us.
Later on that evening I was at my parent's house, and my Dad was showing me a few things he had bought online on Craigslist. I had never heard of this site, but he said you can get stuff really cheap on there, and you pick it up locally to save on shipping. Well now I was intrigued and had to check it out for myself. So I went to Craigslist.com and clicked on my area. In the baby + kids section, I stumbled upon the most awesome thing ever! There was an ad for an Evenflo Exersaucer, so I clicked on it. And behold, there sat the VERY ONE I saw in Babies R Us earlier that day I had been drooling over, but it was $120. It is a 3-in-one that transforms into three different toys. Well, here the picture of it sat right in front of me. It was in excellent shape, and even had the instruction booklet still with it! I thought WOW whoever has this is going to want a small fortune for it, but I was curious enough to ask them what they wanted for it. They sent an e-mail back and said a mere $30!!!!!! Are you serious? Girl, I drove over to that lady's house within 15 minutes of that e-mail, paid her the $30, and came home with my $120 Exersaucer! Here is a picture of it sitting in baby Tony's room...

So then I thought to myself, hmmm, I wonder what else I can find? It occured to me that baby Tony didn't have a playgym yet, so I set off to see if perhaps someone had one for sale. I then stumbled upon one that I had also seen at Babies R Us that day. It was a Tiny Love Gymini Total Playground Activity Mat that was $70 in the store. Again, curiosity got the best of me and I asked the price. They wrote back $15!!!! Again, I drove over to that lady's house, paid her the $15, and came home with my $70 Playgym!

So if any of you are looking for some great toys, and you don't mind owning used ones, I would highly recommend you check out this site. They have them in almost every city. Right now I am so grateful for this site. When we get some more money, I'm going to look for a pack-n-play and some winter clothes!
