| 16-7-2008 - Prayer Request | My mood while writing this blog:Uncertain |
Girls, it is with a very heavy heart that I write this blog and ask for your prayers. As most of you know, when I had baby Tony we decided I would become a stay at home mom and be with our kids. This was very important to both Tony and I to spend this special time with our kids. We have been relying solely on Tony's income ever since. It provides us with the things we need, but less and less often the things we want. But, it's a sacrifice we were willing to make. It was more important to us to spend this time with our kids and be there to savor the precious memories, than to be able to buy expensive toys or eat dinner out and that sort of thing. We cut out all the unnecessary expenses, and tried saving money whenever we could just so this would all work out. Tony even took a position on 2nd shift just to be able to make more money to support us. He now works 4pm to 12am, which I HATE because I'm at home alone at night with the kids, and he misses dinner with us.
Well when Tony came home from work last night, I could tell something was bothering him. That's when he broke the news...he was getting laid off from his job. Companies in our area have been struggling for about a year now, but his job always seemed to be a steady one, until now. They are a company that makes things for another big company here, and that big company is losing business and downsizing, therefore causing Tony's company to have to downsize as well. And here's the worst part - the unemployment he'll be receiving is not even half of what he normally brought home per week. So this is his last week with a job, and as of Friday he won't have one anymore. He will of course be looking for another job every single day, but jobs around here are so hard to find. This area is just going through a rough economic time right now. This couldn't have came at a worse time, with Alyssa getting ready to start back to school and needing a ton of supplies and new clothes, and baby Tony outgrowing alot of the clothes he has now and needing new things for himself. So my prayer request is that Tony will be able to find another job that pays at least what he was making before. I'm not asking for the world, I'm just asking for us to be ok. Thank you girls for your prayers.
On a brighter note, I added some new pictures to my page, and the kids' pages too. Just a little bright spot for me during such a dark time. Love you all.
