| 01-8-2008 - Progress Report | My mood while writing this blog:Hanging in there |
Hello ladies!!! I wanted to give you a little progress report on our family...
The job search for Tony isn't going very well. There are just NO jobs around here. The economy here is so crappy. Most jobs are industrial and production type, and they depend on bigger companies. So when one goes downhill, they all go. Tony is getting unemployment. Granted, it's less than half of what he was bringing home, but that's better than no money at all coming in. Only one of the houses I had lined up to clean actually worked out. The others decided that money was too tight and they just couldn't afford it. So, I'm cleaning one house per week. Things are definitely a struggle, but we're not giving up. We're not eating out at all, and I'm doing all our cooking at home. We're having to eat alot cheaper, but at least we have food. We're getting Alyssa's school supplies one thing at a time as we can afford it. Hopefully we'll have everything by the time school starts. It really is ridiculous what kids need just to start school anymore!!! We had to switch little Tony to way cheaper diapers, which saddened me because I love the Pampers Swaddlers so much! But at least he has diapers. So we're hanging in there!!
On a brighter note, we received 2 coupons in the mail for having pictures made. We took Alyssa to have hers done today, and I've posted the results on her page. They turned out so beautifully. We were going to have little Tony's made right after hers, but it was getting close to his feeding time and nap time, so we didn't push it. We made his appointment for next Wednesday. I'll post those as soon as we get them done. I also was able to find little Tony a complete set for his bedroom for only $40 on Craigslist! I'm telling you, that site is fabulous and a true blessing for us right now. I put pictures up of his new room on my page under nursery room. So now we're saving up for a pack and play, a stroller (we never got one...but are quickly finding out what a necessity it is, especially for trips to the park!), a bigger carseat, a high chair, and some winter sleepers. In time we'll get them, and until then we'll make do!
So, I hope all you guys are doing well! I don't get on here nearly as often as I'd like to, because now that we can't go very many places I try to spend as much time with the kids as I can. We had to get rid of our cable TV to cut back, so we've been watching alot of the same movies over and over. Surprisingly Alyssa doesn't complain one bit! We go to the park alot so she can play with new kids every now and then. I want to send all of you lots of hugs, and let you know I've been thinking about each of you! Love you all!
