08-1-2009 - The Name Of My Son...

My mood while writing this blog: Greatful...

So I have decided to change the first name of my son to Rodney. Rodney is the name of my father. My father is such a wonderful, strong, carring, understanding, stern, strongwilled black man. My pastor said that a son should be named by his father because that is his seed of hope for the nation. I do beleive this. With my circumstances being the way it is and realizing the importance of a name for a man, I felt it in my heart to name my son after my father. His name will be Rodney Zechorien Morris and I love the way it sounds. More than likely I will continue to call him Zechorien because it makes me feel like I'm being smart saying my dad's first name out loud! LOL ... How weird, I know! I have not told my father yet and that is because I want to introduce him to my son and say "Dad, this is your grandson Rodney Zechorien Morris" My father wanted a son but does not have one. There is not another man walking this Earth that I would want my son to be named after. I love my father so much, he has been there for me to an extent that words can not explain. Someitmes I wonder if he even knows how much he means to me.
