09-11-2010 - Isla a year on!

My mood while writing this blog: Happy

Well it's been absolutely ages since I last blogged so thought it was about time for an update! Isla turned 1 on 18th September, we had a party for her @ my mums house, the weather was great so we had a buffet in the garden & she got spoiled rotten - The day was tinged with sadness though as we had to take our beloved dog Samson to the vet in the morning of her birthday & he had to be put to sleep, it was the right thing to do as his back legs had started to give way but it was really upsetting as I was with him when he was given the injection so needless to say I didn't feel in the party mood but tried to put it to one side & give her a great birthday!

We have moved out of my mums now & Marc, Isla & me are living in a lovely 2 bedroom flat just down the road from my family, she has her own room now & it's great, finally feel like a proper little family & it's so quiet where we have moved, hardly see any of my neighbours.

As for Isla, she is a cheeky little monkey, she walks & talks & generally thinks she's the boss of our household, I asked her to come away from the tv the other night as she puts her hands all over it & I'm scared that the tv may fall on her & she turned round, looked me straight in the eye & said 'no mumma' ha ha, I didn't laugh as didn't want to show her that it was funny but inside I really wanted to! I had a real scare at the weekend, we have recently had our sofa delivered & to save space in the living room, Marc took the legs off our dining room table & rested the table against the wall, well Isla somehow managed to pull this table down & when I say table, I mean a solid pine table & by the grace of god she somehow slipped underneath it where there is a hollow part & was unhurt, I was absolutely inconsolable but relieved, someone was looking out for my little girl that day because if that would have fallen on her tiny little head it would have crushed it!

Not really much more to say, Isla is going to New York on Saturday with my Mum & sisters for 5 days (little jet setter) I couldn't go due to work committments but it's going to be real strange not seeing her for 5 days.
