15-9-2009 - Week 40 - Due date today!

My mood while writing this blog: Tired but excited

Well girls I have had quite an eventful day - had bad nights sleep with contractions on & off all night & then woke up this morning & my bed was a little bit wet & when I got up I felt a trickling down my leg so I called the midwife & she told me to put in a pad & after an hour to go into hospital. The contractions did not get anymore painful but I went to hospital like she said & she hooked me up to the machines to monitor the babys movements & heartbeat, took my blood pressure, checked my urine & the gave me an internal - can't believe how far she pushed her hand in & it was so uncomfortable, she said she couldn't feel if I was dilated as the babys head was so far down??? Ever since I have had the internal I feel different inside, I feel like there is more pressure & my contractions have got a little stronger than they were before, could the midwife have moved things along?? Anyway she advised that I am probably in the early stages of labour & then told me the best thing to do was to go home & stay active & when I feel like I need gas/air to call the hospital & go in.

Can't believe that it's my due date, feel like it's taken me so long to get here & now it is here it feels weird but good - am so ready to have this baby girl now & quit being pregnant - congratulations to everyone that has had their babies & hoping to join u very soon!x
