My mood while writing this blog: ok |
So I had my NT scan today, and baby didn't want to cooperate. He was on his back, but the head was too much towards its chest..and it needed to be flat to get an accurate reading. However at the angle it was at, the readings were between .9 and 1.1 both very good, so I dont think it would be much more off when it's flat. I did talk to the MFM Dr after the scan who wants me to come back in a week to try again. We also went over my history and past losses. My BP was also pretty high when I came in and they took it again, and it was high. So she increased my BP medicine dosage. The Dr was very nice, I really liked her. She was telling me about my particular risks having chronic hypertension. I am at an increased risk for IUGR and Preeclampysia, so they will be monitoring my BP. She said with my weight she wants me to gain no more than 15 lbs..well so far Ive lost a couple, and I will be adjusting my diet. I was brought down to earth by the risks, but she said to just take it easy and watch my diet, etc. She also mentioned that I might be eldgible for a study involving hypertension, and she would check into it and let me know. She didnt want to give details before she was sure if I would qualify or not. So I have no idea what that would involve... I dont plan on taking any experimental drugs, but if they want to monitor me during my pregnancy Im all for that heh.

Friday, 20 Mar I am so happy for you! Keep me posted on the progress of your little one. Have you started to pick out names yet? CelticBabe2009 -
Friday, 20 Mar Glad to hear the baby seems to be doing well. It also sounds like you have a good doc for the BP thing. Them keeping a closer watch on you is a good thing. It means more ultrasounds, and that they will take you a little more serious when you call. And if the study means just checkups and monitoring and no meds, you get a little extra cash in your pocket for sitting there. It might pay for some nice baby stuff...:) TexasMommyWannaBe -
