My mood while writing this blog: stuffy! |
So I just got back from my weekly ultrasound. Everything looks great. He's weighing in at 2lbs 3oz and measuring 2 days over! He was SO active during the ultrasound it took her forever to get a bloodflow measurement on the umbilical cord. It was so funny to feel him kick and actually see him do it on the screen. It really made what I saw feel real! Ive been worried a lot about not feeling so much movement. I asked where my placenta was lying and she said it was out in front. She confirmed that it would definitely dampen any movements in that area. I wondered why I really only feel the kicks off to the sides! Im feeling much better after that appointment. I was getting paranoid that he wasnt growing. With my first pregnancy, when we found out there was a problem, the baby was measuring 3 weeks behind, so I keep expecting the same this time.
I saw my Dr afterwards, and she commented on my weight (I think? lol) I havent gained anything at all, Im actually about 6lbs UNDER my pre-pregnancy weight now. She comes in and says boy your metabolism is in overdrive. My BP was a little high but not high enough for them to worry just yet. So Im to just rest rest rest... She asked me what I planned on doing for 4th of July, and I replied..nothing. And she says...good answer.. lol So we're just growing right now..the Dr said its all about racing against time at this point. If I can make it to 30 weeks, Ill be happy. Of course I want him in there as long as possible, but I will feel better about where he's at at that point.

Thursday, 2 Jul not putting on weight is a great sign. quick weight gain is a warning for pre - eclampsia, so you must be happy about that. enjoy the rest, because you won't get much once baby is here. stay in there a bit longer little man, bit more cooking required :-) 1st baby on the way-411 -

Thursday, 2 Jul I agree that 30 weeks would be a good spot too. I was induced for preeclampsia at 36 weeks but my daughter had the weight of a 30/32 week old. She did fine. The doctors said she'd be in the NICU for a month but she ended up being released 5 days later. nmck -
Thursday, 2 Jul Your job right now is to basically be a human incubator! That is great everything is going so well. I think 30 weeks is a great goal where you can breathe a sigh of relief, and celebrate every week after that.
