| 24-9-2008 - IVF Cycle 2 | My mood while writing this blog:OK |
January 2nd: I hope everyone had a Happy New Year. I have my annual exam with my OB/GYN on February 19th and my mammography on February 21st. According to the calendar my retrieval will be anytime between February 1st and February 5th and my transfer will be anytime between February 4th and February 9th. I should know anytime between February 15th and February 18th if the second time is the charm for me. Good luck and ~*~babydust~*~ to all...
January 11th: I go tomorrow morning for my day 21 blood work. I will start the Lupron shots tomorrow evening. I don't have much to post since I'm just starting my second cycle (even though there is one in between) of IVF with ICSI. I hope to have more embryos to freeze this time as I'm not sure I'll be able to do another full cycle. The shots start to get to me after a couple weeks. Anyway, Good Luck and ~*~babydust~*~ to all...
January 14th: According to my blood work from Saturday I haven't ovulated yet. I go back again on the 19th to have it checked again. My follow up appointment is on the 18th so maybe the Doctor will have some answers to my questions. I haven't started the Lupron shots yet because I have to wait until after ovulation. I'll update my page again next week after blood work and follow up appointment. Good Luck and ~*~babydust~*~ to all...
January 22nd: Sorry I haven't been on in a while. I've been working a lot and just had a friend of mine (3 weeks shy of her 40th birthday) pass away yesterday. She's in a much better place and finally at peace and pain free. My doctor cut back on my Lupron this cycle to 10 units. He want to slow down my developement so I don't get so many eggs this time. He wants quality not quantity. I started my shots on Saturday so my retrieval will be around the 10 of February. They want to do a day 3 transfer with 4 embryos this time. There is a 1-3% chance of having quads, a 5-9% chance of triplets and a 25-30% chance of twins. I'm a little nervous but the odds are low for multiples. I'd like one at a time but will be blessed with whatever God give me. I'll update again once AF shows up and I go for day 3 blood work. Good luck and lots of ~*~babydust~*~ to all...
January 29th: Okay, so now I have another friend who was diagnosed with Stage 4 Melonoma. This totally sucks. I am waiting for AF to arrive so I can move to the next phase of my IVF cycle. Still taking the lupron and started spotting today. Hopefully, she'll be here in full force tomorrow. I'm anxious to get going here. If AF arrives tomorrow, my retrieval will be between February 12th and 15th and my transfer will be between February 15th and 18th. Since I'm having a day 3 transfer with 4 embryos, I should know by February 29th if it worked or not. My friend's (who passed away) birthday is February 17th and my other friend's (stage 4 skin cancer) birthday is March 1st. Let's hope this is all a good sign. Hubby's birthday is February 5th and then Valentine's day is in the mix. I'm praying hard this month. Good luck and ~*~babydust~*~ to all...
January 30th: YEAH !!! AF is finally here. I never thought I would be so happy to see her. Now I can finally move on with my second IVF cycle. I go for blood work and an ultrasound on Saturday morning. Then I will start the Gonal-F and low dose HCG shot along with the lupron. I am still on schedule for retreival between the 12th and 15th of February and the transfer between the 15th and 18th. Good luck and ~*~babydust~*~ to all...
February 4th: Well, I went for blood work and an ultrasound on Saturday. I have 14 follicles and started the Gonal F (350 units per day) and low dose HCG (15 units per day) along with 5 units of Lupron. So I am now taking 4 shots a day. Hubby started his antibiotic Saturday evening and will be taking that twice a day until my retrieval. I'm feeling very good about this cycle. I think the 3 day transfer will increase my chances of getting pregnant this time around. Good luck and ~*~babydust~*~ to all...
February 6th: Had blood work and an ultrasound done yesterday. I have 14 follicles and my estrogen level was 326. I have to go back tomorrow for more blood work and another ultrasound. They think my retrieval will be the 10th or 11th now with a transfer on the 13th or 14th. My meds didn't change either. They said I am responding very well this cycle. Let hope I get less eggs that are more mature. Doing a 3 day transfer with 4 embryos increases my chances but they wouldn't give me any statistics. I will update in a couple days. Good luck and ~*~babydust~*~ to all...
February 8th: Had blood work and an ulstrasound again yesterday. I have 14-16 follicles and my estrogen level was 903. I want back this morning and will update again later this afternoon. The doctor said I need to go back again tomorrow so I think my retrieval will be in the next 2-3 days. Good luck and ~*~babydust~*~ to all...2:40pm: I just heard from my nurse. My estrogen level was around 1000 and I do have to go back tomorrow. She is 99% sure my retrieval will be on Monday so that will make my transfer on Valentine's Day. Good luck and ~*~babydust~*~ to all...especially Rend (and everyone else who has been trying for a long time)
February 10th: Blood work from yesterday was good. Took my trigger shots last night at 9:30. Went for more blood work and an ultrasound this morning. Everything is right on schedule. We go tomorrow morning at 8:00 for the retrieval. I will update with more information then. Good luck and ~*~babydust~*~ to all...
February 12th: The retrieval surgery kicked my butt this time. I spent the entire day yesterday sleeping. I still feel a little crampy today but much better than yesterday. Anyway, they got 16 eggs of which 9 were mature and all 9 were fertilized (via ICSI). I start my progesterone shots tonight along with the antibiotic and medrol. I will get a call between 9am - 11am on Thursday for my transfer time. They usually start that at about 1pm. I will update more then. Good luck and ~*~babydust~*~ to all...
February 13th: Tomorrow is my transfer day. I will update more later in the week. I just wanted to send some extra ~*~babydust~*~ to Rend and Sweetlemom (and everyone who has been TTC for a long time). And a very special Valentine's Day to all (especially those who are ovulating tomorrow).
February 15th: Well I had a great Valentine's Day. I was at the Fertility Center at 1:30 to start drinking water (bladder needs to be full). I went in the recovery room at about 2:00. My transfer was about 2:45 and took about 10 minutes. They put 4 embryos back. Then I had to lay there for 20 minutes afterwards. I finally got to go to the bathroom at 3:20 (I thought my bladder was going to explode). I think the best part was how my hubby was rushing into the transfer room before me. He's very excited for a little one. I hope this time is the charm. We got home at about 4:30 and met up with a friend and his kids for a hibachi dinner. It's his first Valentine's Day since his wife past away last month. He said he went to the cemetery to ask her for a little miracle for hubby and I. She was such a wonderful woman and I know she is asking God to grant our wish as I type this update. I go back on Monday, the 18th, for a blood test to check my progesterone level and my pregancy test is on Monday, the 25th. I will update more then. Good luck and ~*~babydust~*~ to all...
February 19th: I had my blood work done yesterday. My nurse said everything looks good. My pregnancy test was pushed to Tuesday, February 26th. I woke up this morning with a really bad sore throat. I can barely swallow. I have a doctors appointment tonight at 9:15 to make sure it's nothing serious. I'll update more soon. Good luck and ~*~babydust~*~ to all...
February 26th: Well, I had step throat and was out of work last week. I did start spotting on Thursday again. Blood work came back negative again. I have a follow up appointment on March 19th at 2:30pm. I didn't have any left to freeze after this cycle either so I have no choice but to do another fresh one. I'll update again soon. I just need a little time to wrap my head around all this. Good luck and ~*~babydust~*~ to all...
March 5th: There isn't much to report. AF finally left town. I go to the doctor in 2 weeks for my follow up consultation and to see how he wants to approach my 3rd cycle. I hear three is the charm. I really hope so. I'm not sure how much more I can take of this. It's very emotional and depressing. I want to say good luck and send loads of ~*~babydust~*~ to rend (who is on her first IVF cycle). I'll update more after I see my doctor. Good luck and ~*~babydust~*~ to all...
