| 26-7-2008 - Come on Baby, Do the Twist! | My mood while writing this blog:Very happy - you will soon know why... |
Ok all, Tom has taken off all week and it has been so nice! We have relaxed a LOT, rested a LOT, done a LOT of NOTHING!!! And that has been wonderful! But we did get a few things taken off our ever-present "to do" list.
We got the shelves hung in Ty's room and finished our shopping for him. My baby shower was such a lovely affair last Saturday. I find it a little amazing how few people really shopped from our registry! Even my MOTHER declared, "I got you things I thought you needed." HUH?? And she is NOT a controlling type mother, trust me! The things we DID get off our list, I loved the best and was so appreciative of. The things that were not, I really like and I really appreciate all the love and so forth, but I really wanted to avoid too much EXTRA! Oh well. Please forgive my venting that just a bit. I do not mean to complain! Maybe I do to you, b/c it is "safe" to do so. You won't be offended! You won't tell on me!!! :)
So Tom and I went shopping and got the things that, YES, we REALLY needed! And we had fun doing so! :) So with each thing that gets set in order, I feel so much more confident.
Had our Dr. appt on Tuesday. Turkey-Ty is STILL completely breech! We have another appt for this coming Wednesday, but also have a surgery date for his planned Birth Day: August 6th! Less than TWO WEEKS away!!!!!! Oh my!!!!! If he turns (and he still CAN!) then we go back to the original "wait and see when he WANTS to come" plan. Either way, we are coming down to the wire and I can hardly believe it!!!!
Now, for the reason that I am so very happy! :) I am 44 years old and have never, not once, bought new living room furniture! Oh wait, I take that back. When I was 19 and very first married, we went to one of those large warehouse buildings where they sell cheap furniture that is probably pirated from the Dollar Store ships on their way from China and bought a sectional for like $45.00 or some ridiculous price! Always hated that couch.... ANYWAY!!!
Today, we went to a REAL store, with decor and everything! and chose fabric and pieces and pillows and stuff!!!!! I am SOOO EXCITED!!!!! Most of it arrives next Tuesday! The couch, being "custom upholstered" for us in Idaho (say that with an aire please! HA!!!) won't arrive for 6 weeks.... but that is a-ok with me!!! Now, we are NOT rich (in dollars) and th is is not "top of the line" stuff I suppose by some good people's standards, but I feel like a very rich woman today!!! :) And that is a nice feeling every now and then! :)
Thanks for listening to me! And thanks for praying for us all! I know everything will be okay... I'm just getting anxious to SEE that it is! (You know the feeling!!)
